With cross realm guilds coming next week I was wondering how guild ownership will work. I am a GM on Dawnbringer currently but I would like to move to Moonguard, while maintaining my guild and my friends without making them move with me.
Will I be able to do a normal character transfer once cross realm guilds go live?
Will this work the way I am thinking? So I will be able to move and not disrupt my guild?
There hasn’t been any posts on how this system will work and I need to know.
You won’t be able to transfer unless you move someone else into the Guild Leadership role. They’re also discontinuing the guild transfer feature, so you won’t be able to use that either.
However, I do believe that your friend list will get wiped still with the transfer.
I have done realm transfers and my friends list was not wiped out when i moved from one server to another. It worked just fine and i kept my friends list. Granted they are battle net friends but still friends list remained the same.
At this point there’s no reason to transfer. As of prepatch you’ll be able to be a part of any guild, on any server (in your region) of either faction.
You would have to make another character guild leader, transfer to Moonguard and reinvite the character you want to make GM and then transfer GM back to it… if it works like it’s supposed to so ymmv.
I kind of agree with Tharkash. With guilds being cross realm and cross faction there are very few practical reasons to transfer realms. The only one that really makes sense to me right now is server economy and you have Warband banks coming which are going to make cross server trading much much easier. I would imagine within too long all the server economies will probably normalize to a point that even that won’t matter much anymore.
The reason i want to transfer is better access to RP events, and more crafting order demand to make more gold. My current server is pretty dead in those regards.
In that case you should be able to do what I said once the prepatch goes live. If this is wrong, then hopeful a CS person will correct me.
You could create an alt and make them gm and then transfer and then give gm back to your main
Yeah I think that’s what I’ll end up trying. Worse comes to worst I have 3 character transfer tokens and I can always move back.
