Apologies if its been answered but I couldn’t find anything. Has there been any comment on if they have a fix for the issues of cross faction queueing in war within? I know there were technical issues in DF but hadn’t heard anything on that piece in a long time that I saw.
There was a interview with ion at blizzcon.
Someone asked him in a q&a if in war within if we can cross faction que in lfr and dungeons since we have cross faction guilds.
Ion said they have no plans in the immediate future to ever implement that because he, “doesnt want to step on loyalists toes” who doesnt want to see the other faction.
Like ARE YOU SERIOUS!???!!!
what does it matter if you get qued in as a night elf with a full party of horde? I doubt youll be kicked for being a night elf healer who does their job and keeps the party alive.
Private servers have been doing it for years and cross factions get along just fine.
Awww thats sad to hear! Its like going 90% of the way there with removing faction barriers then just stopping.
If people super dont want it they could just have a button that says dont queue me cross faction.
Which is insane, considering follower dungeons are cross-faction for the NPCs it fills. I hope they change that, add the alliance only checkbox if it makes them happy.
This.
Heck, I don’t even notice people are opposing faction in mythics that I run. LOL.
It’s such an asinine reasoning. If it’s that important, then give them the option to only queue for faction specific groups (similar to how it is in custom lfg) and when they queue they’re only placed in groups with similar folks who clicked that button. Then they can go enjoy their significantly longer queue times but maintain their iMeRsIoN.
My friends and I talk all the time about how aboslutely and utterly annoying and ridiculous it is that we can’t do LFR and Timewalkings all together on alts, because we are mix-matched on factions, despite the fact that we all run M+ and Raids together no issue. It’s just so frikin’ stupid a hill to die on.
Lol what? They can’t just make an opt-out option?
They really just need to add a toggle that puts you in cross faction groups by default, that you can turn off if you want longer queues in exchange for only grouping with your own faction.
I honestly dont know what was going through ion’s head.
Last night i was in a group with my alliance friends and we tried to que for lfr. I finally realized it was me…
My alliance friend was a little sad and said dang
They can lift the restriction. They just dont want to.
Cross faction mythics and guilds was a big hit. Whats stopping them from allowing us to que cross faction?
Makes cross faction a huge detriment. Cool, I can form a full group but if I want to do timewalking I just cant. I had to faction change this toon back to actually do the stuff I want to with friends.
They want it to be opt in when it should be opt out, since id assume 90+% of people want it and or dont care
Can be in the same guild together but can’t queue for a dungeon. Makes sense, right? LOL
Its freaking sad.
I would be happy seeing a human priest in a heroic dungeon or timewalking…
This faction bias is bs and childish. Who cares if you see the opposite faction in your qued group?
What I care about is queue going faster lol
There was a cool part to the faction divide, and having faction pride, 18 years ago. But that has sense waned entirely lol. At least for me as we started doing everything interchangeably and I started getting to the point that my horde friends would quite, so I’d faction change to alliance to play wiht alliance friends, and that cycle has continued for years. The amount of money I’ve spent on faction changes is shameful. I about died of happiness when we could do M+ together cross faction.
Then I crumbled with extreme disappointment when they locked you out of q’d content.
Isn’t the Alliance and Horde technically at war now?
Why would the alliance go to war with itself? You know the alliance runs the ‘horde’ council, right?
No.
Keep factions separated.
Warcraft. The drums of war should thunder once again.
They havnt been for like 20 years, bud.
We need to start a campaign to change that.
They are just changing WoW into Diablo.
The game now is just a dungeon crawler. Pleople running the same dungeons over and over again. Seasons, cosmetics and all this stuff that arpgs have are now in WOW. SL was about mysticism just like Diablo instead of war of conquest and politics like WoW.
No more unique stories and quests for each faction. Eventually everybody will the same.
Some people dislike that and don’t want to be forced into it.
BUT… there is no reason why they cannot allow full groups to auto queue. If my guildies want to run Timewalking together as Horde and Alliance and we have a full five people, we should be allowed to queue.
