Cross faction NOT for queued content?

I don’t. I’d rather they not screw up spaghetti code just so people can whine and complain that it doesn’t work correctly.

Just gonna reiterate this one more time…

the wait times would approach infinity in the lesser group (probably the purists) if they split the LFRs by faction loyalty.

Then hold off until it’s ready.

By releasing it without queued content, you are telling casual players they aren’t as important.

Uh… no.

I don’t want them screwing me out of playing with my friends cross faction because you LFR people can’t just hold your horses and wait until your stuff is worked out and people get used to cross faction.

Edit:

Wrong. They’re testing the waters, getting people used to things and dealing with coding that’s going to take massive amounts of time. Literally no one said this.

I’m as casual as they come and no one has told me I’m unimportant. This just tells me it’s better to not have more toxicity in groups.

I’m surprised they’re not doing doing cross-faction random BGs tbh, one of the more common complaints I’ve read on here from Alliance posters is “sigh… i wish i could queue as horde to get a win”

And it’s not like a random BG affects the high-end raiders or 1%ers in any way… it’s like, who cares - just let people mingle cross-faction in a casual BG setting (if they choose to)

But yeah, no cross-faction guilds is a major missed opportunity - I assume they’re hesitant to do it for money reasons or to keep the faction change/character transfer sales rolling

But you’re fine with casual players not being able to play with their friends. Got it. Great mindset to have. :+1:

what’s stopping them? they get access to the same features as everyone else.

Unfortunate, but these things take time to make happen. They really should have started working on this years ago; Mythic+ pugging is REALLY bad past a +15 on Alliance right now. Motivation to play the game is dead rn because there is nobody for me to play with.

Can’t wait to play with Horde players; hopefully they go all the way soon so we can fully group and be in guilds with opposite faction players.

As the super-est of casual players, I will be playing with my friends. Sorry you can’t distinguish between “unimportant” and “coding takes a while.”

Ehh, that is a bit of a stretch from what they are actually saying. Everyone wants casuals to be able to queue with others. Why hold off on fixing it for everyone else though? They will do work on the queueing stuff, but Alliance high level play is completely dead; we need it ASAP.

It’s coming later on.

Does no one pay attention to interviews and where they said they’re doing this in steps and have massive amounts of coding issues to work through?

Cross Faction is not being added to their content.

That’s like saying if they added Cross Faction to only Rated BGs, then someone told you what’s stopping you from doing rated BGs as a M+ player who despised PvP.

It’s almost like their excuse holds no water. If you’re a cross-faction Rated BG group and you queue into a group that doesn’t want cross-faction, you have forced cross-faction onto people who don’t want it.

Even if it’s their enemy, it’s still something they don’t want.

Which is their entire excuse for not doing it for queued content.

why do you delegate them to exclusively a small fraction of available content?

and even so, why do they care what others are getting that isn’t affecting them?

if pet battles or pvp or Trial of Style got xfaction but raiding didn’t, I wouldn’t care.

sure.

but I’m not going to pull a clark and instantly believe everything they say.

this is a problem (the faction issue) that has been growing for years, and they’ve done nothing about it until now. the whole “this is just phase 1” is most likely a line of BS. I have little faith that they’re going to deliver.

at least, not in my game lifetime. I don’t have another 15 years to give the game at this rate.

I’ll be thrilled to be wrong .

Good for you. That’s you.

I care when my part of the game is constantly ignored in favor of appeasing the hardcore.

We’ve had ZERO indication they ever plan to add cross-faction for queued content. In fact, the only word on queued content we have is it’s not being done because they want to make cross faction as opt-in as possible.

The fact cross faction is coming to rated pvp, which is literally all about Horde vs Alliance, before random dungeons, is ridiculous.

have you done the math? will it even give you any benefit at all?

are you sure adding LFD/LFR to xfaction wont make the queues worse?

do you think it’s all tanks and healers waiting for dps on the other side?

It will even out the queues between the factions. PvP queues for Alliance will go down. PvE queues for Horde will go down. The opposite will happen for the factions of the other type of content.

And I don’t mind that.

Apparently you haven’t seen the Horde foaming at the mouths that they have to wait potentially months for the Alliance Hall of Fame to fill before cross-realm mythic opens, eh? Or the Horde that are screaming for Blizzard to make Hall of Fame just the top 200 guilds in general, even though that would de-incentivize playing the already dying Alliance faction. (Hell, there’s even a CC thread calling for it)

I’m sorry that you can’t wait a while to see how things work out and allow them to do the coding necessary. God knows I don’t want LFR cross faction yet with double the toxicity and then people whining they can’t get queues because people opted out of cross faction.

You do you, though. LFR/LFD is the least of their worries with player content issues right now.

Not even reading further.

the Hall of Fame…yes… i thought we’re talking LFR…

have they said anything about changing cross realm grouping when they do the cross faction thing?

the HoF thing is a failed experiment. Past me approved of keeping mythic raid not-xrealm for a while, but current me is over that.
