Cross faction bgs force faction change - makes no sense?

Hey Torturekilla,

Ohhbobsaget, Kennie and some others did some testing. The testing they’ve done suggests that it is the faction of the person forming the group that determines the faction the group gets assigned. So reform group if ya want a diff faction etc.

If you’re seeing diff def let them know, but this seems to be what they are seeing.

lol, yeah, premaders are hard at work at figuring out how to game the system, no surprise here

i dont hate them (premaders) but true post haha

This is what happens when pvers cry that it’s time to end “factions” because it’s a relic of the past and they are so done with the war part of World of Warcraft. EVERY Wpvp zone this expac is free for all and all pvp content is now cross faction.

Welcome to the world of just huge it out craft.

Putting me on a horde team if there is horde in my party or not is fine, changing my appearance is also fine. Definitely don’t want blizzard to pick my racials though. On one hand it’s like free testing of other racials, but you kinda already know what you want. And you might have paid money race changing to get it.

You would quit the game if you joined a World PvP group, played Battleground Blitz OR Arenas where both factions are ALREADY on both sides? Touch grass…

The issue is we were sold the idea ONLY that cross faction groups could queue together, NOT that factions would be changed within that group. From the 11.0.7 Developer’s Notes verbatim, " * Cross-faction groups can now queue for unrated PvP." This was left ambiguous with no explanation and many of us are extremely disappointed.

I used to be an alliance main for many years but moved to horde after I found a solid community of friends to play with. So, I faction changed most of my toons to horde. With this 11.0.7 change being announced, I was excited that I could be my original alliance race and still play with my friends, so I purchased several faction change tokens. Now after realizing that I still can’t play the class I paid to swap back to with my friends…I’m pissed.

We chose a class to play that class, not be forced to play something else. At this point 20+ years later it should just be a RED vs BLUE team with everyone being who they are, JUST like in Blitz, Arenas and every single other game mode… Mercenary mode is a terrible and lazy implementation of this. Team assignment of RED or BLUE should be random so you may end up being a full horde grouped team and be BLUE in the bg or a group of alliance and you’re RED.

Too many people are playing WoW, a team-based online game, like they’re single-player superhero games instead of working together to complete the goal.

You should try that in Raids and LFR; don’t do objectives as a team. Wander off and find your own way to the boss. Who needs raidmates, right?

Bliz: Here’s another way for you to play with your friends, because it’s a team game.
Player: Not what we want.

Make yourself or a group member of the faction you want to be the party leader then so you can play as the race you want. Horde vs Alliance is one of the most compelling and fun elements of WoW. Cross faction wasn’t even supposed to be in the game to begin with. Be glad they bothered with random bgs at all. It’s a reasonable compromise.

Why? Random bgs are the last bastion of faction representation you can literally cross faction with your buddies everywhere else. Is that not enough

Vulpera being forced to play as diaper gnomes on alliance side is a crime against furmanity.

Now I gotta find a race that is tolerable on both factions.

Not only that, because your class changes, you have to manually set whatever new class abilities on your bars and try to remember to use them at the appropriate times which is annoying AF.

Goblin.
You get to basically be a hairless vulpera on horde and a big vulpera on alliance.

This is the real crime.

Honestly this game has gotten so far away from the Warcraft part of the game. It started out Orcs vs Humans in the first Warcraft game second was the intro to a couple other races (Trolls, Elves and ogres) Then the thrid game brought us All of the other allied races, Then we got WoW in all its vanilla glory. ITs always been Horde vs alliance. Why has that changed its been Horde vs Alliance from Vanilla to SL then everyone wanted to be all Kum Bya with one another. I want to see factions again I hate this everyone group together and hold hands and sing, It just so lame .

Peace treaties were written into the story in an ever evolving world.

I don’t see you asking why we’re not still in WW2.

Things change in a story, especially when it hasn’t been completed yet.

Life imitates art and art imitates life.

I knew you wrote this before I knew you wrote this

Ok we are in a fictional world WW2 has nothing to do with it.

With an evolving story, which is not static.

So we have moved on from war between factions and moved towards war with monsters trying to destroy the world we all live in.

Yes but not all of us war with monsters this is called World of Warcraft based on the model of Orc vs Humans that is what it is and will always be. If pve nerds want it that way thats fine have it in pVE. That doesnt mean it belongs in the actual War part with PVP.

Only if you intend to stick your fingers in your ears and loudly shout lalalalala as much as you can until you convince yourself that you’re right and everyone else is wrong.
