Ultimately if the game is this hard to play new folks won’t join and it will spiral until 50yold rank 1s are half the player base
Suggestion: create a ranked pruned ladder
Have one fixed talent build that is automatically the median build from the 3s ladder, a fixed set of pvp talents, remove all micro burst abilities like strike of the windlord, essence break, prune heavily micro cc, remove all racial, make cc immune on 2nd not 3rd dr. You should keep your dps rotation, but have at most 1-2 offensive CDs and 1-2 defensive CDs, and have only your spammable cc if you have one and at most 2 cc if you don’t
Create also a default UI that tracks the basics of kicks, the cooldowns of the four important spells per spec and their trinket, diminishing returns and health bars, than can be toggled off
This is something that would be 10x easier to introduce people to pvp through, and if they want to play with the usual spell book at some point they can do that
Also have healer mmr in this mode artificially 200 higher than median dps
Best way to have an introductory PvP experience would be to bring back templates for low lvl PvP and ban consumables. Or make them purchasable in every Bg so it’s an easily recognized concept.
Right now you cannot level up through BGs as a new player without getting stomped by twinks and veterans in-the-know
Ex. LvL 69 Timewalking gear is like 150 ilvls more than what you’d find just questing
