CRBG compromise: ☢

Please no, I want the sense of server community back. BGs are part of that.

It does certainly sound like their plan is to have include CRBGs. Though I suppose they still have time to make yet another Blue saying they are using 1.12.

We had battlegroups back in vanilla which were the precursor to the current CRBG so I don’t really see an issue. Having single realm on realm BG’s died in 1.12

Battlegroups = CRBG

Stop calling it Cross realm queues for bg.
There is a big difference between battlegroup and cross realm bg and its not the same.

In the 1.12 patch notes it lists Cross-Realm Battlegrounds as one of the main features.

Indeed there were. There were at least 20+ realms in each group. You find me a person who says they played in single realm BG’s and I’ll show you a liar.

I guess no one ever played in BG’s prior to 1.12?

And? We’re getting 1.12 not whatever was prior to 1.12.

1.12 warts and all, #nochange

Then I guess that means no guild banks, dual spec, lower respect costs or any of the other non vanilla changes which you advocate.

Warts and all, right?

I’ll trade you CRBG’s for those things :slight_smile:

AV was the only bg I dreaded with battlegroups added, it is so easy and worth it to afk.
Epics from vendor reputation gives huge incentive to afk.

Sorry, warts and all.

At least if CRBG’s are implemented, it will still be in keeping with vanilla, even it they were one of the absolute worst additions to the game.

If servers go empty then they can merge servers. I personally don’t think that is going to happen. If it does then make one community on one server by merging.

I don’t really have a dog in the fight because, most likely, the only time I’m going to be doing BGs is when I’m grinding for the mounts cause I don’t like PvP.

However, I’ve never really been much of a fan of Cross-realm anything, and I don’t find queues an issue, so I am going to have to agree with those that don’t want CRBGs. I prefer realms to have an identity.

CRBG for low level pvp 10-49, no crbg for 50-60.

I will not argue anything, it’s just a suggestion.

I’d imagine whatever the fate of crbg’s at 1.12 is what we are getting

They added the battlegroups in 1.12 because it was usually the same dozen pvpers seeing each other every single WSG. Believe me, it was a welcome thing when they added the battlegroups. Unless Classic is one big sharded server you won’t hate it. It was one of the more welcome additions to PVP in Vanilla.

CRBG = battlegroups

No CRBG. Instead why don’t we simply NOT ADD City Battle Masters so that people who complain about waiting for queue pops, waiting for their honor to show up, have it show up in their faces near the BG portals in the form of World PvP near where we enter or the surrounding areas!

No CRBG + No City Battle Masters = No more complaints about can’t find PvP. Either the server is dead or you need to go back to camping the dungeon stone / craft your own war yourself, places to go are obvious.

How’s that for solving the “lack of pvp” problem?? I went to rank 13 early on my server, without premades and without crbg and I distinctly remember the change from No City Battle Masters to when they added them in as “what lead up to CRBG”.

City Queue Battle Masters = Pre-CRBG, it filtered out World PvPers and created a new “BG Community” and was the first line of separation, almost segregation in the PvP Community. Then after City Battle Masters, CRBG did the opposite of reintegrating the community by “bussing” players out further instead of into social interaction on the servers.

These are two parts of the huge change in the PvP system that made WoW feel so impersonal to me. Charoc r13 Maelstrom, summer 2005, 2nd priest to hit that rank. City queue premades and crbg made me not want to try to hit 14 since no one would remember your name. Ppl get bored waiting for queues to pop. What do you think happens next? Something about just standing there waiting for queue gives them time to write in changes. So …

No City Queue BMs because it makes people THIRST for CRBG!

So were numerous other class and gear changes that we already know will be in Classic on the first day.

We also know we are getting world PvP objectives in phase 6. World PvP objectives weren’t added until patch 1.12 (August, 2006). 2.0.1 came out in December 2006. TBC released January 2007.

Many changes that weren’t in the game until August, 2006 were in 1.12.

Classic launch will be vastly different than Vanilla launch in terms of class balance, itemization and numerous mechanics.

But anyway, as far as the OP goes, I’m not sure what the point of that specific compromise would be. The only positive of having to travel to BG entrances to queue was WPvP related. If you use CRBGs to have faster queues, you won’t be outside as long to then engage in that WPvP you would have engaged in with a slower queue.

I’m in a BG because I don’t want world pvp, if I wanted wpvp I’d be on a pvp server.
