It’s essentially a meme. But there is some foundation in fact. Of people who go to the extremes in their love for animals, specifically cats.
I mean, when you have a three bedroom house, around thirty cats, and only one of the bedrooms is used for humans to sleep in … perhaps you’re a wee bit crazy.
Now … I love my cats. But thirty? Not happening.
There’s such a thing as crazy cat men? from what I have seen, men seem to hoard dogs rather than cats because dogs are the far superior animal.
Yep they exist. A close friend of mine has like 5 kitties though I wouldn’t say he’s crazy, just a little eccentric.
We adopted a little black kitty a year ago. His rib cage and right leg had been shattered they think from abuse. My heart just melted so we adopted him. We have a big house with lots of sun beams to lay in. All these little guys want is to live in peace and be loved and happy.
Hes so sweet too. He licks you when ever you cuddle him. The kind of monster that could hurt an animal like that is beyond my comprehension.

There IS a reputation among men who own cats. The image is that if a single guy owns a cat he MUST be gay. No truth to it of course, but that’s how male cat owners are sometimes viewed.
Our cat likes to eat spiders too. Well, he chomps down on them and then realizes he doesn’t like the taste. Then he makes faces about it. 
On the other hand, he treats mice like toys. So, he’ll do one of two things. If he’s hungry, he’ll eat most of it and leave the guts at the foot of the stairs. If he’s not, he just brings it in and plays with it for a bit, then lets it go so that us humans can play with it too!
Song birds, he’s more likely to treat as food than toys. 
That’s one of the few ways to truly get me “Hulk Smash!” level mad.

I love my little dog but I learned shortly after I am much more of a cat person, he is just so so so needy.
All my cats have been sweet and affectionate but never needy…
I will survive though because I still adore him to death and will do anything for him, but between us I will not be owning a dog again after him.
My last cat (shelter cat) … I think she was neglected. I’ve owned many cats over the years and she was the first one that was people oriented. She had to know where I was at all times (well, when she was awake or not doing other things that is).
Needless to say, I could never close the bathroom door to do my business. And she’d even get grumpy when I took a shower.
i love most animals lol, I considered a cat or a dog earlier this year (couldn’t get it bc of covid and whatnot) since i was in a huge downward spiral mentally. I wanted comfort in something furry to care for and cuddle, but instead i got frogs… very different animal and i cannot cuddle them, but I love watching them and taking satisfaction in seeing that, you know, they’re still alive lol. plus they were easier to get during quarantine than a cat or a dog would’ve been, not to mention that my current living situation wouldn’t allow for it anyways.
That got off topic. I loved cats more as a kid, I find I prefer dogs more now, but I still find cats to be absolutely precious! They melt my heart sometimes

I never understood why they do this! Everytime we are in the bathroom with the door closed they sit and wait. They don’t even want anything its like they’re supervising or something 
Well, in my case, I think it was she was worried I was going to vanish. I didn’t KNOW her history (and there are probably shelter rules about how much they can discuss) but her behavior gave me a feeling she was neglected.
If I curled up to use my laptop, my tablet, my psp et al … she’d hop up and curl up on my chest to take a nap. When I went to bed … she’d lay down on my stomach as well.
Really people oriented. Well, more Me oriented. She got nervous when maintenance or anyone came over. She was ok if I was holding her, but otherwise, nervous.
All the blokes I have met in my life have all had dogs, so hearing about or seeing a bloke with a cat seems odd to me. I personally hate cats myself because I find them to be useless animals who only want you when they’re hungry but that is just me. I grew up around dogs all my life, so I prefer dogs, especially since you can take them hunting with you.
