Crashing, freezing, and stuttering after 8.3 [Intel GPUs]

I don’t know any Mac user that isn’t having issues at this point (myself among them).

Amazing the last blue post is over 5 days ago. They are clearly no longer tracking the issue. Pathetic

so basically I just lost a month of sub time to all these issues, or am I missing something?

No you’re spot on

Yup I just canceled my sub which ends in February. I mean it’s not like activision/blizzard cares at all about their users

So - my guild is beginning to plan raiding without me. A dps Mage is now practicing healing. So they lose a dps and gain a unpracticed healer.
I am so frustrated. The lag spikes in the new content areas are now on average 3-5 minutes.
I went in a vision with 2 others, lagged out at the beginning. When it was done they were on the boss and I was locked out of the room.
I still got credit but did not participate. That is exactly how I enjoy gaming. Being carried through everything.
Couldn’t heal a mythic+ with guildies.
Please fix this!
Please…

I’m generally a patient person and can put up with a lot of BS - but this is truly testing my patience. My experience since resubbing just a few days ago has gotten from bad to worse. Today, my game has been laggy and slow since login, yet I remained somewhat hopeful that maybe I’d be able to join a group and kill just one rare. Can’t even do that without the whole game crashing and me having to hard boot for what must be the 15th time since my resub. The fact that Blizz doesn’t even want to give us a refund is, in my opinion, ludicrous. I’m sorry to everyone who’s been having this issue a lot longer than me…

I’m having the same issues with my mac freezing. I have a 2017 MacBook Pro, 10.15.2 OS X with a Razer Core eGPU that’s got a Radeon Vega 56 plugged in. The game will freeze and the screen will suddenly start flashing red and my eGPU will put all its fans on full blast. This has happened from questing in WotLK zones or even on the log in screen. My graphics are all within range of what my eGPU can handle and yet this still happens.

Shame I’ve already bought shadowlands I would refund it in a heartbeat and never give this scummy company another dime so long as I live

PLEASE HELP US BLIZZARD, PELASE. WE NEED SOME ASISTANCE. WE NEED A FIX
AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
WE WANT TO PLAY AS IT IS INTENDED
I’m running the game on a 2016 MacBook Pro and after downloading 8.3, the game crashes completely or will lag for about 5-10 seconds with the rainbow mouse icon circling. At one point, the computer shut down automatically after lagging. I’m using the most basic graphics and this issue particularly occurs when I’m around a lot of people or in a chaotic boss fight. I was told to switch the Graphics API to DirectX 11 Legacy and I’m unable to do that. The only option is Metal. Any ideas on what could solve this problem?
I could not complete any dungeon without lagging or being kicked out since the latest patch. Initially, I thought it is my mac’s problem, and then I found this thread.

I rejoined last month after a 5 years hiatus, and I just cancelled my subscription because of this issue. This sucks.

what’s really messed up is YOU CAN’T EVEN PUT IN A TICKET ABOUT THIS. they just say its a known issue with no work around. Kinda messed up if you even try to ask for help from blizzard at this point you are effectively ignored

Yall plz keep posting updates and feelings about Mac killer 8.3… considering the fact that none of us can play the game. Its therapeutic seeing that others are dealing with this issue as well. Its been a rough 12 days and counting. Lets all pray tuesday they have a fix.

To anyone saying an eGPU will fix this, take it from me, it will not.

Blizzard please fix this. I keep experiencing constant lag and my game freezing and it ultimately makes the game unplayable. I cannot raid with my guild at all and get very frustrated when doing dailies because i keep freezing up when i’m around a large amount of people. i’m even to afraid to continue attempting any visions of n’zoth cause I don’t want to end up wasting my hard earned coalesing visions. I am using a 2016 MacBook pro that i have never had problems with when it comes to playing wow until 8.3 released. I have always been a fan of your games but right now i’m starting to question if i should even continue playing if i’m just gonna have to deal with this issue. So I ask once again please fix the issues all mac users are having.

Ok, I found a fix. It is not Ideal, but I bought a Sonnos eGFX Breakaway puck (only because I was not looking to spend a lot and wanted to see if it worked). I have been running it on 6 graphics settings and have not gotten a crash yet.

I shouldn’t have to spend $350 on a fix, but at least I can play.

That’s nowhere near ideal, might as well just buy a whole mother laptop lmao

Anyways if blizz has any type of fix they haven’t told us about expect it Tuesday

The game is literally unplayable with all these freezes, this is actually ridiculous.
