Crashing, freezing, and stuttering after 8.3 [Intel GPUs]

any update blizz?

Not today it seems

Fame freezes especially during multiple-players battles. And if i am lucky - people are able to kill mobs before my Mac crashes - in this case game successfully unfreezes and i can keep going…till next mass-battle. Have not tried any dungeons or raids (because why to get even more disappointed), but was able to manage single visions run (group runs keep freezing).

Don’t bother even leveling alts like the new race it crashes. Had to tell a elf to kick me from a group because I froze mid boss battle

you just bother me fundamentally lol

Still can’t play. Especially not any kind of instance.

ITS NOT JUST MAC! Stability is crap on many PC’s as well.

another week without being able to play, taking into account the time that was reported in the RTP is 2 months with the crash bug

2019 MacBook Pro with touchscreen. instances are basically unplayable. same as reported above

exact same as above

i still can’t log into a character without it crashing my game

Okay this was a new moment for me. My character was in boralus. No raids, no group, no any sort of fighting going on, or any sort of aoe spells being casted by anyone. Character was walking from mailbox to bank and computer froze then crashed.

I didn’t really take this problem seriously until this most recent crash so I didn’t read all of the computer jargon discussions. If someone could give me a brief update on what we 100% know for sure, I’d appreciate it.

Do we know what is causing this issue? Is this issue only effecting intel graphic drivers? Are any computers with amd graphic drivers or any other graphic drivers messing up? Is all our talk just educated guesses until blizzard gives an update?

One issue is affecting only Intel IGP users, while the other, broader issue, is affecting everyone. Intel IGP users are hit with the double whammy of sporadically poor in-game performance while also dealing with the crashing/panics/auto-reboots.

Neither issue has a current ETA on a fix, or at least the deployment of a fix. We’ll hear something here when they’ve committed to the fix’s deployment. That’s about all anyone knows right now.

Incorrect! Someone posted they uses a raytheon eGPU on his Mac to play that has this issue but doesn’t experience it on any computer running one

I just bought an egpu. it was one of the cheaper ones just to try it out.

I had the same issue for the first few days after 8.3… I got tired of the crashes so I just got over it and installed win 10 pro through boot camp… I have used a mac for a long time… as I am an animator/creator. I gave boot camp around 130gigs to play with so I can install a couple other things like D3 so I wouldn’t have to swap back and forth OS. WoW runs way better in boot camp with direct X 12. It looks better, graphics are better… all around a much better experience. You can purchase a digital copy of win 10 pretty cheap… Create a folder on the desktop to download it to for a easy find and then just follow boot camp… very easy.

Just tried running the HoO scenario on Parallels and froze at the exact same place in stage 5 that I’ve been freezing at this whole time.
The issue really seems to be with the way WoW interacts with my graphics card, it seems. This is a sticky situation. Really counting on Blizz to fix this.

We are paying for the game and are NOT able to play, is this fair?

Able to play bgs, barely, still get some 10-15 sec freezes. Absolutely unable to do anything that includes the patch. Tried the starting quest like 5 times, crashes every time on phase 7 still. Just like day 1.

Just received two crashes, one last night on the last boss of strand and one today as soon as I got into the new warsong. Changed my settings to 1 prior, always play in window mode.

Blizz, common.
