Crashing, freezing, and stuttering after 8.3 [Intel GPUs]

This does not work, multiple people(myself included) in this thread have tried it with 0 success.

Please everyone reading this thread keep reading this thread even after this is all fixed. It will be fixed of course, we’re paying customers, what’s absurd is the amount of time its taking. What’s even more absurd is that people are already reporting that we will not be issued refunds. I’ve kept up with this thread since it started and the whole time in the back of my mind was “at least we’ll be getting some free game time”. The fact that people are already reporting that we won’t be getting refunded is just blowing my mind right now. I had some horrible ISP issues last year where I didn’t have internet for a day or two which caused me to overuse my phones data from my hotspot which I was charged $15 extra for that month, my ISP without hesitation gave me that entire month($50) for free because of this. This is unacceptable.

They will fix this game we pay for(obviously) but, WE need to make sure they refund us for our time lost. Theirs just no excuse, we’re paying for a service that isn’t usable right now.

Misery loves company I guess, at least I’ve been able to do dailies but every time I join a mythic it crashes ASAP. Wonder if their payment system went down they’d be nice enough to take a week to fix.

I really hate to jump on this thread, but, same here, MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015) , happening all the time. I can’t join BGs or raids either. I really hope this problem gets fixed very soon.

Yea its getting a little ridiculous been about a week now not pointing fingers at employees just starting to wonder if they have a solution or are feeding us false hope to keep people subscribed

I only say this because its happened to me in the past with music production programs

I’ve definitely come to notice the freezing occurs mostly around other players. I went for about 2 1/2 hours of playing with no freezing but was doing solo daily stuff. Grouping and general play with other players seems to be most problematic for me.

So since 8.3 Ive pretty much been Trolling alliance areas desperately in search of Pvp. Plzzzzz Blizz fix this issue… I cant do Anything! My game is basically unplayable. My sanity is dependent upon it at this moment. And im not talking about Visions of N’zoth. My actually sanity.

MacBook Pro running Catalina. Had no major problems before yesterday’s patch, but then again, I wasn’t running dungeons or raids. But completed Uldum, and have been running dailies.

AFTER yesterday’s patch I haven’t been able to play at all. Freezing, spinning rainbow, etc. Have been trying to do the untangle the lines daily and can’t see the bottom of the puzzle so can’t complete it. Trying to do anything else, including hearthing, results in a computer shutdown and error message.

There is a process. A developer pushes a fix into a hotfix branch that then goes back to QA for review. In addition, there may be other fixes also checked into that hotfix branch that need review. They have ability to expedite issues if they are critical but that’s often based on number of users affected by it, which means mac users tend to fall under “not critical” unless it’s ALL of them. Since this is a minority affecting issue, it’ll likely get batched into a tuesday update unless another more critical issue crops up sooner then it’ll go out sooner.

So my TL/DR is probably tuesday at latest unless something else goes wrong that affects more users and causes them to up time schedule for next scheduled patch.

Yeah I’m sure having potentially tens of thousands of people have only ¼ of the content the game provides be accessible falls under not critical in Blizzard’s pov.

Great stuff.

Have had no serious crash issues ever with WoW until 8.3’s launch. Game is unplayable atm, freeze, spinning rainbow, small screen clip of maybe 6 seconds in the past flash on screen - game resumes, then freezes, then kernel panic. Lowering everything to lowest settings and placing 8 frames per second on foreground & background has no effect.
Kernel report is always the same:

To be fair this is probably a Mac OS bug rather than a Blizzard bug – everyone having the problems seems to be on Catalina. Blizzard is stuck working around the OS for a fix.

It’s not. I am on Mojave. The game was working fine a week ago.

One week and still unplayable for the most part… T-T

Works fine for me on Catalina

Yea the Customer service is definitely not as important as it used to be for Blizz… I recently made a ticket on Classic b/c i came back after a break just to give my friend an expensive item called “Pattern: Hide of the Wild” and it was gone from my bags. Made a ticket and they said they see in the system that it was deleted but somehow at the same time its “purged” from there system… and told me “Bummer!” … like really after 9 years of Subscription payments that’s all you can do to help a loyal customer… is say Bummer!

No it’s a video card thing. Generally, something like this would get picked up in QC but since Blizz decided to can about 800 of them, there you go. You figure their Chinese overlords could give them some slave labor to figure out the bugs.

I’m on Catalina too, maybe that’s why I’m only experiencing minor issues after messing with graphics. Definitely not working flawlessly though.

2018 Macbook Pro with Catalina. I’m experiencing frequent freezes (with the spinning rainbow ball) and occasional complete crashes. This has made tanking Mythic dungeons undoable. I didn’t experience any of the freezes/crashes prior to this latest patch.
