Crashing, freezing, and stuttering after 8.3 [Intel GPUs]

How would everyone feel about PTR access to Shadowlands for those of us unable to play due to these issues? Sounds reasonable to me.

Every post you write is about compensation. Stop being greedy and start demanding a current-working game.

Good point honestly. I just want to play the game.

I’ve made one other post stating in a general manner that I hope something is done to make up for this.

Yeah, because simply demanding a working game is gonna get something done. Grow up. It’s obvious you’re directing your anger over the game at me, I’m sorry you’re so upset. And in fact, I actually attempted to provide a helpful solution that actually reduced my issues about 90% so instead of crying here demanding a working game i’m just enjoying the game as best I can.

Out of fear of an ill-timed crash/freeze I am saving my visions for after the problem finally gets resolved. Also staying away from mythic, PVP, any major group content. Basically, I’ve only been doing the new dailies, but I even freeze up on that stuff. I guess it’s good I don’t have a raid team at the moment.

GUYS TRY PLAYING IN WINDOW MODE. Not getting my hopes up but no crashes so far, just a bit of lag which I’m totally fine with. Also this help if you get the spinning wheel of death and you can easily quit out of the game before it causes the computer to crash. I’m running
iMac late 2015 with Catalina 10.15.2
Processor: 1.6 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i5
Memory: 8 GB 1867 MHz DDR3
Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 6000 1536 MB

My setting in WoW are all set to the recommended besides playing in window mode. I really hope this helps some of you, and please hang in there guys blizz is doing everything they can. I blame activision.

Yeah this is what I have been doing, on top of messing with all the other graphics settings. Unfortunately a lot of people here find it more productive to cry and demand a working game rather than experiment with what could possibly help the situation. Thanks for sharing.

In one post you asked for some kind of compensation

Then you said your computer blew up like this is some kind of laughing manner (and you wanted to talk to someone about it, insinuating some kind of compensation)

Then you asked for compensation again in the form of PTR for shadowlands.

Stop being so melodramatic, just because I called you greedy doesn’t mean you get to tell me to grow up and begin to analyze my state of mind. The only person who seems to have been triggered and is directing their anger somewhere is you. You don’t have to reply if I am annoying you.

YAY WE LOVE SOLUTIONS. I totally get where everyone is coming from tho. Most people aren’t tech savvy and kinda expect these things to not happen, and if they do, they don’t last this long. I’ve been frustrated as well but the other half of me has been so invested in trying to figure this out, maybe because I go to school for Information Technology lol? I love this game and I get so sad reading these comments. Please guys, try window mode and if it doesn’t help just hang in there! There’s also a ton of other bugs with this patch, I refused to just sit here and not try to figure things out on my own which I’m sure most of all of you have been doing the same

Forums are not for arguing, we are all going through the same thing.

Ah, a fine example of self projection. You are more than triggered. You are also very upset you can’t play your beloved world of warcraft. I don’t blame you, but I have more of a life than to go through some individuals posts and get into a keyboard warrior argument.

I hope you stop freezing up soon. Maybe you’ll be in a better mood. Btw, you don’t seem like you’d be very fun at parties.

Y’all are going pretty off topic for the thread.

Why are you still replying? Go find something better to do then.

Play in windowed mode, turn graphics down,

texture resolution: low
texture filtering: bilinear
projected textures: disabled

I haven’t froze up in about an hour.

Well in fairness we shouldn’t be expected to jerry rig our own solution, we are owed a working product that we paid for, blizzard should provide that to us.

And they will  all things have problems when they are first released. Technology, phones, computers, programs, and we don’t live in a perfect world! If anyone’s fault it’s activision. Blizzard did say that they were rushed too release 8.3 :frowning:

Did all of this and started crashing faster lmao

I still had my computer freeze and reboot while in windowed mode with lowest graphic settings, unfortunately.

Running: 2017 Macbook Air on Catalina 10.15.2

Running in Windowed Mode did not solve the problem. Still crashing game/mac.
