stop trying to make the black empire happen, it’s not going to happen

Wasn’t N’Zoth the free one, to begin with? So his plan makes even less sense…

The rust bolt rebellion is obviously better than fish people

But where do they stack against gilgoblins?

Soggy Little Socialists >>> Metal Diaper Babies > Angry Samurai Goldfish

just give me Vulpera already so that this expansion can be over

I honestly couldn’t tell you. I don’t have a Horde character that has cleared Legion content, to be honest.

This is the longest I’ve been unsubbed in fourteen years. I’m both surprised and a little sad about how much my emotional investment and interest is dwindling. But every new development, every piece of news and every big reveal, just causes me to shrug wearily.

If you want my take - just stop looking to WoW to have a overall story that excites. BfA’s overall story is a hot mess for all its themes…but the zone storylines were fun and like I said I’m enjoying myself immensely in Mechagon’s daft and silly island.

So I’m enjoying WoW in the small moments, rather than the grandiose ones. Ironically, I’m now at the point with the game that were I to join one of those “Alternate History” RP Guilds (I belonged to one once upon a time, where the Alliance had retaken control of Lordaeron) I’d probably have zero discomfort in rolling with that story as opposed to Blizzard’s “official” one.

Prior to this point, I was very much big on keeping my characters grounded in Blizzard’s narrative. But just going by the Shadowlands trailer, there’s no way I’m justifying Vanndrel here going to the Afterlife. Maybe as a Void Temptation dream sequence, but not legitimately dying and coming back.

Now my old Human Hunter whom I canonically left behind on AU Draenor? Now that it’s been established 30 years have passed and everything has gone to crap there, I could see him manifesting on the other side.

…and I might have just solved my Horde character problem with that comment.

“I remember the game as it used to be: a place of creativity.

I played within its servers and RPed among its players. I was happy then; at peace.

I remember, too, the day the lore changed.

That day marked by cries of protest and torrents of forum posts where angry Alliance and Horde raged in darkened corners.

I read many forum posts, but many posters paid the ultimate price.

That day my beloved sanctuary became the Battle for Azeroth.

There the tired writing staff wrote their twisted lore that corrupted the game and nearly destroyed us all.“

The sad part is I was able to pick it instantly

What even is my life right now …

It’s Akama’s monologue for the Black Temple Raid

Thank You! It was literally driving me nuts.

The Black Temple and the Zul’Aman trailers were both very well written (and acted).

I charge you all to finish Akama’s gripes with BFA.

That trailer’s voice acting gave me chills…

“you wanna stay, you stay here forevah! We gonna bury you here…”

I was more intimidated by Zul’jin in that moment than I’ve been by Queen Azshara herself or her Old God patron at any point in this expansion

There was an honest malice to that monologue, because we hadn’t spent several expansions toppling Entire armies, Old Gods and Demon Lords as part of the leveling experience.

Also Troll Raids were fun back then and hadn’t become meme fodder. Also every man and his dog wanted that damn sword.

Petition to have every single cinematic start with the phrase “This… was our land. TROLL land…”

it just works everywhere

Strangely enough, it is also true for 90% of the landmasses we have visited…

The real reason Vol’jin started the war again in Ashran was because he wanted to be able to say the same thing about Draenor
