I don’t, and don’t plan for that to change. I’m hoping that there are enough players who refuse to engage with the system, that changes and/or reversions will be made when Blizzard runs the engagement numbers.
You are hoping that the system gets ruined because you are free to not engage in it?
The whole DF system along with the updates for TWW seem like they were designed to pad in more time and gold sinks, with a side intent to push more token sales.
That crafted gear can maintain relevance over an expansion is just a facade - allowing players to craft relevant gear does not require all the gates and hoops and friction built into the current system.
My main issues with it right now is cloth drop rate, enchanting dust, and sheer amount of Leatherworking mats you need. Like Blacksmithing using a few ore and a LWer is out there working a 10 hour shift skinning stuff to get enough to make one belt.
I also don’t know why Mining has a specialization into ore seams. Seams are so far and few between in this expansion I would feel like I wasted KP going down that branch.
I’m engaging with the crafting system in TWW. I did not in DF.
It’s not fun at all but it pays off in the long run when I don’t have to spam trade and depend on other players for crafts.
It’s alright to admit that it’s not very fun folks. It’s not supposed to be fun it’s just supposed to be crafting which has always been a time sink that takes away from progressing in other ways. It’s just much more of a sink now.
Great, thanks!
I mean, I guess.
It’s been meaningfully overhauled like once in 20 years, and now no one engages with public crafting orders at all.
It needs a rework big time, it’s flawed to say the least.
When enough players don’t engage with the new system, change or reversion might come. That’s all. I’m sorry if that’s bad for those who like it, but there are those of us that don’t like it, and it’s bad for us now.
I get that pleasing everyone is impossible, but I’m stating my hope for change that will make it fun again for me personally.
I can’t go ten minutes without seeing someone looking to get an item crafted, whereas before they were universally worthless.
What was fun before? The items were literally worth less than the material to make them and there was no investment outside hitting craft all until your skill turned yellow/green.
Here is the truly ucked up thing no one is talking about. All of this was brought up in BETA, Blizzard refused to listen.
I for one realize I will never be able to cap all crafting professions again, and IMO, that sucks.
and i think it’s great
Past crafting only jc alc and enchanting was worth anything. Everything else was discarded the moment the season started.
I, too, miss the old system.
The way I see it, they didn’t add anything new to the professions, they just made the road to getting it longer.
I’ve been running Tailoring and Enchanting since BC, but I plan to drop them this expansion since professions feel more like a gold sink rather than something I do to make gold.
I really like the new system but since everyone else hates it, I wish it was optional.
Maybe we can have something that skips the complicated intense profession journey for people who raid or do mythics, but keep it for those who don’t and maybe even make it a better path to gearing.
Yeah but it’s everyone spamming chat.
I’m talking about the workorders.
If people could just use the system without needing to spam it, it would be amazing.
3 issues with that. 1: can’t choose quality in public orders. 2: there’s a limit to how many craft you can do in public orders so you either wait longer cause everyone that could do it have reached their limit already, and said limit would also increase the tip they would require, or you remove the limit and now the no lifer in town with addon snipes all the orders.
Or 3, and I think that’s the main one, heaven forbids the trade chat is used for trading…
Trade isn’t used for trading, it’s used for spamming and is completely illegible most of the time.
Your first two points are literally my points… it needs a revamp. Good idea, terrible execution.
Literally not the point of the channel.
It doesn’t. It works excellently for its intended purposes.
This is more problem of a low pop server than professions. Low pop servers has everything less, be it guilds, items on AH or crafters.
Yes, I get you want benefits of low pop server with having access to goodies from high pop.
That would mean 1 bot could craft for whole server 24hours a day. Who would even want to be crafter in that case?
It’s just boring, imo. Didn’t really add much. Didn’t change how I crafted. Just made me bad at it until I got knowledge points. Crafting order system was a waste of time and could have been handled with the AH and an NPC to attatch missives/embellishments/whatever.
