Almost like you have to play the game to get the gear.
What you have to engage with the crest system to get the crests?
And I have to engage in the profession system to craft the gear?
What’s the issue? What would be better for you?

No, it’s a trash solution. That removes the entire progression and skill from crafting and reinvents Shadowlands Legendaries, the worst state crafting has ever been.
So Blizzard shouldn’t ever implement new systems because people can choose to play in both unintended as well as explicitly unadvised fashions … so updating, changing, or creating a new system should therefore not occur…?
Quit using “new players” as an excuse. The updated professions are fine and since you seem to have purposefully avoided learning about them in any way shape or form, maybe do that before you comment on 'em next time.
“Fun”?
First of all, the updated professions are fun. But fun is subjective, you may find it fun to watch a live commentary of paint drying. In fact, I can attest to it being quite amusing and fun when done so as part of an Irish community. No, I will not explain the reference if you don’t know it.
Secondly, nothing about what I said has anything to do with “fun” … it has to do with you being wilfully ignorant yet commenting on things you are purposefully avoiding any in-game information about. Seemingly just so you can be obtuse on these forums in case your ignorance is genuine rather than faked.
Neither of which are particularly good when the information as to how professions work are all in-game, and have been around for two years, and has been part of the requirement to get to TWW and DF endgame. There’s not really much you can say that makes you not look absolutely ridiculous for the things you have said.
So… yeah. I ain’t telling you what is or isn’t fun. What I am saying is that you are being obtuse (most likely) on purpose, for no real reason other than to be a forum contrarian.
You can buy runs for crests.
This what poor people who don’t get crafted gear say. You can spend an hour mining and herbing on a dual gatherer and make enough gold for crafted gear.
It’s such a chore, it’s just a giant checklist and I hate it.
True, but buying gear in is not a new thing, ever since vanilla.
Pay to win? The crest requires you to get 90 runed crests or 90 gilded crests. The sparks are 1 every 2 weeks from a quest. People with early access still dont have a 5th piece of crafted gear yet due to it being time gated for sparks and crests.
To get 1 enchanted crest a week for gear. Your capped at 90 runed a week. Not to mention half of a spark per week. If your paying to win with all crafted gear youre waiting 30 weeks to have enough sparks for all pieces. Its far from pay to win.
Do people in these forums think before they post? Or do they just cry to cry?
Dont buy tokens. Buy 3rd party gold because you get way more and your money goes to a guy in a 3rd world country trying to feed his family instead of into Blizzards pocket.
I’ve been fairly engaged with crafting this time, but only because I absolutely love the crafted gear color way.
And since I’m not in it for the gear/ilvl, it’s been very chill.
I think the rush, rush, rush / gear up / omg sparks, is what is turning crafting into P2W. Only people with a lot of time can craft it the good stuff right now, so it’s really expensive.
By the time everyone else can craft it, 619 won’t matter.
it’s a convoluted system.
byzantine: complexity for complexity-sake.
i love crafting…but…they’ve created a massive
mess.
What are you making where you are spaming for 20 minutes? I ask in trade once and get 6 whispers minimum. One guy charged me no commission one just said whatever is fine. The mats are dumb expensive sure.
Yeah it’s annoying but putting Gilded Crests behind 9s is even worse.
I don’t get it. Was there a way to obtain gears only 3 levels lower than M raid gears before this crafting system? I would say it’stoo easy to obtain such high ilvl gears.
Except it’s not. You don’t NEED crafted gear to succeed in this game. You WANT it, you don’t NEED it. There is a huge difference. Crafted gear is an optional part of the game you are under zero obligation to go for. If you want can keep leveling through mythics and so on. No one is forcing you to buy crafted stuff, you are choosing to do this. You should not be relying on crafted gear alone to get you through stuff. Can it help and does it help, certainly it does. But again it’s optional.
20k on commission? I call bs
