Thirdly make sure you have rank 3 materials
Fourthly make sure you have enough valor stones to make your spark
Lastly spam trade chat for 20 minutes and then spend 20k on commission. Even though seller posts no minimum commission.

I kind of agree with this. I think enchanting gives too big of an advantage this expac.

If you want to use higher level pieces, you need to earn those items yourself.
This isn’t a requirement for commissioning a piece, or crafting it for that matter.
Valorstones being used for gear upgrades isn’t really relevant to this system at all.
This isn’t a requirement in the least. You can post a public order, guild order, make it yourself.

Terrible system since DF. Still terrible now. I refuse to engage with it.
The OP doesn’t want to earn the crests in raids or dungeons either, so I’m not entirely sure what they do want. If one wishes to not find a crafter, there are two other types of work orders to use.
All of this is negated by making some friends and finding a decent guild. Not even a good one, just decent. My small guild crafts for each other for free, we just send each other the mats and get the stuff made.
Yes the system sucks if you are just trying to play solo though.
You’ll get nothing out of that engagement. You and most people with common sense feel likewise about crafting.
I have two heroic crafted piece and still felt miserable at how expensive the process was!
Not to mention the wildly complicated crest situation, layer upon confusing layer. Just make a damned crest something you get and use. Why must it take a science degree to figure it out?
I avoid this by completely avoiding crafted gear.

Just let me slot in the crests and sparks on a base item you buy from the AH. Its an easy solution.
Sadly, they were prolly stone cold sober when they spoke up at the team meeting and said, “I have a crazy idea for Professions in Dragonflight, AAAANNNDDDD I can make them take even longer in the next expansion!” Then, someone that looked like Urkel but sounds like Picard said, “Make it so!” I have not liked Professions since Mists. WoD gave us those dumb things to learn proffs out in the world, Legion made like 3 ranks of every item for crafting, BfA took it one step further and tied more of them to open world quests, and SL crafting was just as shabby. Then DF came along and was like “hold my beer”.
