Crafted gear is so annoying

Do you even hear yourself? You just said “here’s how straightforward it is” then listed a 9 step process that doesn’t involve crafting at all! :joy:

Players should not have to participate in world of professioncraft to learn how to use the crafting system just to do their regular/BiS gearing. I have played for 16 years and have NEVER used professions outside of making bandages in burning crusade and using legion engineering because it is a massive waste of time imo.

Granted I was able to figure it out by myself without having participated in professions, but again I am not a new player.

Did you know that getting to max level is a process requiring AT LEAST 80 steps?!

Step 1:

  1. Create a character at level 1.
  2. Level up to level 2.
  3. Level up to level 3.
  4. Level up to level 4.
    Etc.

Yes, a 9 step process including the most basic stuff is EXTREMELY short. You want the shorter list? Sure, here you go:

Three steps, nothing more, nothing less.
Quit trolling if you think this nonsense of yours was an actual response.

Trolls used to at least attempt to be funny… rather than purely lame, boring, and weird.
Have a good day.

Several steps were read. One was to open a menu.

Okay so you simplified the list down to 3 steps that still involve PARTICIPATING IN PROFESSIONS. Your head is about as thick as 4 cinderblocks if you think I’m trolling lol

Let me simplify it for you since you’re obviously not understanding. Most people don’t use professions, they buy all of their crafting materials from the auction house.

That’s even less complicated.

Wait, actually, you still have to read, so…

True it IS less complicated than involving professions in the mix, but we’re NOT talking about professions, we’re talking about crafting.

Crafting and professions are the same. You use professions for crafting. Crafted gear is all items crafted using professions.

I really hate to burst your bubble and I understand where you’re coming from, but they are not the same. I can use the crafting system to its full extent without ever touching professions.

Edit; not for fulfilling other people’s orders, but at least to request my own

You can comission someone to use their profession to craft you an item. It still is interaction with professions, the item doesn’t get generated by an NPC

There is a reason why everyone had a crafter of every kind. It was easy since crafting also added stat bonuses. Removing stat bonuses made people like me stop keeping up with 7 alts.

And I understand that, but do you understand how it could be confusing to people that have never touched professions and never plan to?

Not if they did the tutorial questline in the first zone of DF, the default leveling experience

I guess this is the problem. I’m not speaking for anyone but myself, by MY default leveling experience is to dungeon que from 10-max because it doesn’t take much time. A new player who just bought TWW and did not play dragonflight will probably just run random quests until they get the silithus quest prompt that comes up for them and never end up touching DF.

Edit: That doesn’t even account for the fact new players can level boost a character to max ignoring everything. Not that it’s advisable, but it is possible.

Too expensive i aint buying enchants sue me

I mean to be fair Warcraft is basically P2W now anyway. You can buy gold and get crafted gear, mythic plus runs, heroic clears.

Now im lost here - If you do understand how to craft, how can it be complicated?
Usually things are complicated until learned/understood.

Crafted endgame gear cant be bought with gold, only materials, crest and spark need to be earned.

A simple solution is to have a base item that you buy from the AH. Let players slot their own crest and sparks.

You will still have to raid to get crests.

Spamming trade chat isn’t fun.

crafting as a whole sucks , the ranking system is just a way to sell tokens
