Blacksmiths can craft level 90 rare-quality items in two determined specs and a third with a random enchantment as well as level 85 uncommon-quality items in two specs and a third with a random enchantment. This is on top of being able to craft level 90 rare-quality PvP sets (Contender’s/Dreadful/Malevolent.)
Tailors can craft various level 90 rare-quality PvP sets (Contender’s/Dreadful/Malevolent) and level 85 uncommon-quality items with a random enchantment.
Leatherworkers can craft level 90 rare-quality PvP sets (Contender’s) in two specs for both leather and mail and level 85 uncommon-quality items with a random enchantment for both leather and mail.
Where are the level 90 rare-quality cloth/leather/mail PvE sets that would be equivalent to what blacksmiths can craft? Why the disparity? I’m not necessarily complaining, simply wondering why blacksmiths can kit themselves out at various points and tailors/leatherworkers get the shaft. This is assuming of course that everything has been listed properly in Atlas Loot.
That’s true but they’d still be level 85. I crafted a set for my mage because that poor thing was in desperate need of upgrades (and an ilvl bump so I could run MoP dungeons with it.) Just think it’d be great if there were similar options at level 90 that blacksmiths have. Not a dealbreaker by any stretch. It just seems odd to me is all.
Maybe. Where are the bags blacksmiths can craft though?
I get what you’re saying and don’t strongly disagree with the sentiment, but I also don’t think professions all have to have, be, or do the same things.
Part of the decision making process for choosing professions is evaluating trade-offs, such as what you can craft, and how it may impact player power, ability to make gold, etc…
A good question but then I’d also point out that blacksmiths can also craft weapons and belt buckles. Not saying they shouldn’t be able to as it falls perfectly in line with what blacksmiths do (both in game and out). There just appears to be a large disparity between what is available to blacksmiths as opposed to what is available to leatherworkers and tailors.
I certainly don’t expect Blizzard to take notice of this and exclaim, “By Jove! He’s absolutely correct! Quick! Someone add extra options for the poor leatherworkers and tailors.”
This is something I would love to have some numbers on. In general, not asking this of you personally.
