Craftable mounts and pets for 9.2

Finally, Blizzard appears to be answering my many requests (and obviously not mine alone) to put the bling back into crafting. There is apparently a new system for 9.2 for creating a whole bunch of pets and mounts, and this idea makes me very happy.

We need more of this sort of creative fun in the professions.

Its not tied to player profession, but the idea itself is really cool. I just hope they don’t ruin it by making every mount take 2 months to grind.

It isn’t? Ah thats a bit sad. Just sort of breezed over it on wowhead, didnt read more deeply. Still, its a fun idea.

The abom stitchyard was always able to craft pets and mounts. Just saying.

Hm, thats a Covenant thing is it?

Yep. I think there’s 2? Pets and one mount. The pets go for quite a bit on the AH.

They have done craft-able mounts in the past and many have been annoying because they can only be used by a character with that profession. For example, the wolf from leatherworking which I won’t be able to ride if I ever drop leatherworking. Same for the tailoring carpets. I would love to see that removed as well as the other big fail of crafted mounts being BoP.

It’s a more engaging way. I guess they just looked back at mechagon and will expand on it :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: Or had a meeting and someone mentioned mechagon.

I agree about the crafting mounts being bop, which is weird when you consider that during the same expansion blacksmiths could make the Fel Core Hound Harness which was boe. Its seems incredibly randomly odd.

Exactly. There isn’t a lot of consistency to it and very frankly, there seem to be a few “golden” professions which get all the crafted things players actually want and will buy while many other professions rot in a ditch at the side of the road. (I’m looking at you, leatherworking.)

Dont get me started on the current state of professions in WoW. I cant afford to keep chewing on the furniture.

TOTALLY hear you here… I think I have a bit of my own chewed furniture. :frowning:

Agreed. What really burns my buns is when they lock desirable patterns behind raids - UGH! One day I would like them to stop treating crafting patterns like some sort of reward for the elite only. So sick of being side-swiped.

It depends how they actually implement it. If it is implemented as fun or overly time gated and tedious.

Or packed with RNG, requiring daily quests that appear randomly at specific assaults. Yes, I’m looking at you, Hand of Nilganihmaht…

I’ll wait til it is because they said that before in wod and seriously doubt it would be what people would like.

I wouldn’t mind if those pets/mounts were grindy to get. Do you wish everyone to have one within days?

Or do you want it locked behind mythic raiding, so only 1% of the wow population has it?

Yes? Not sure whats the problem with that. If you enjoy absurd grinds thats on you.

The tree mount was free and everyone has it. It is a neat mount. So see any around lately? Not on my server.

This honestly seems great. An optional grind for people that want to do it. This is what the game needs more of. Finally taking lessons from the small amount they did in Mechagon and applying it to something new. They need to do this more often instead of scrapping entire ideas.
