I just spit out my coffee lmao. I was not expecting that when I clicked the link Ty for that
Truck drivers? There are some, but many still pay by mile. And there are some who have dropped the rates by 5 cents a mile.
The vast majority of the trucking companies have. Actually raise the pay rates. To attract new drivers since a lot of people don’t want to drive a truck… now the spot rates have come down a lot I used to get 6 dollars a mile now I’m lucky if I can get 4
Although from new York. To Denver, I can still get around close to 5 a mile lane
Meanwhile the ones that saod this exact thing when all this started were lambasted as some sort of deniers and killers. Anyone with a modicrum of common sense knew the cost of all these lockdowns were too great.
We are not really designed for a pandemic. Now that I think about it.
With the uneducated spewing bs about vaccines, With the gov not able to give good answers. With the corruption that is going on with CDC that keeps getting uncovered, and people acting like we did not lose that many people thanks to covid. When something worse comes along, we are doomed.
And it will be deserved.
Ita not going to be
Ita just another flue you gotta watch out for now
I didn’t know they take volunteers but if so that is cool! Will do if possible!
Whats your point? People are on their 5th and 6th booster and still keep getting it. Kek right?
Well, when the Washington post writes. Covid The pandemic of the vaccinated sorta makes one head turn lol
Some have to attract nrw drivers, yes, but this is also an issue:
I’m absolutely not saying you’re wrong. I’m just giving more information on some other stuff going on right now.
Most rural and small town fire departments are predominately volunteer, with training provided for free. (If you get really rural, the same thing applied to EMS services, and it’s often one and the same).
It’s one of the few things you can do where you know someone’s life is better because you showed up… And of course, it’s something to do on a Saturday night. Or 2am Wednesday.
Is that true?
I haven’t read or watched news in decades.
I just rely on talking to my neighbors and friends. Going to clean up some of the bricks I have and put them out in the patio later today.
You mean the government spewing bs about how it was going to prevent infection and then admitted they loed about it? Maybe when something actual worse co es along we eill be fine, since it eill most likely not have a 99.8 % survival rate.
Here in Germany there’s a new big campaign for the vaccines and it’s just hilarious.
The key figure in this, the public face for the campaign, is a woman with long covid. Usually it would be quite effective to use someone with such a diagnosis. Problem is - she’s been vaccinated several times and bragged about it on social media. And then our ministry of health uses this woman to aggressively advertise for the vaccine. The irony.
The press conference about the campaign was a sh*t show, because of course the press pointed out the contradiction. Still, they just rambled in confusion that they can’t explain why the vaccine didn’t work and that people are safer with it anyway.
Marketing gone wrong.
And if you want the real perspective on COVID, unfiltered through general BS, most departments have been living it for the past few years.
…Though it’s thankfully been better lately.
I live in a state with mostly rural areas and very few of our fire departments are volunteer.
And of course, the only thing stopping us from developing traditional deactivated virus vaccines is profit margins. They’re desperate to get people to accept their business model.
Thanks for that.
I didn’t know that was happening. I guess this is some very confusing times indeed lol.
Who do we believe as it seems no one knows what is really going on???
Haha, I live in Alaska and even our EMS is volunteer.
When I’m ambulance, we cover 60+ miles of road and no one gets paid, even the chief. We do run ALS, too. We do shifts, so when I’m not on shift, I also volunteer with fire.
My fire department has 4 paid positions, counting the fire inspector. Chief, deputy chief, secretary (all of whom run calls). The rest volunteer.
I was a paid firefighter EMT for a bit in the next town over as a favor to a friend (until the grant ran out, the person I was covering for came back, so on). But a lot of us are scraping by on spit and panic. The department I ran with before I moved to my current small town was completely off the road system up in the Arctic ocean. Only a clinic, fire and ems same people. Equipment? Ha. Haha. HAHAHAHA.
