just means you can try all 4 with almost no hassle but then coming back to the last ones will sounds about right.its not as bad as people put it out to be imho.
Keep in mind, too, that somewhere I think it was stated that you’ll have the opportunity to interact with and get to know each covenant a bit, likely through quest lines as was done in BFA, for example, with all the Kul’Tiran Houses, before making a choice.
Oh I get it… it’s just not the insurmountable problem OP is making it out to be.
Covenant ability swapped - new soulbind shows up.
That’s what I’m expecting to happen at some point during the expansion anyway. When our Covenants band together to fight the Jailer we’ll get a Covenant ambassador from each of the Covenants or some such nonsense. The ambassador will teach us how to use their Covenant’s ability and introduce us to that Covenant’s soulbinds.
This is surprising to you? It’s all in the name. Covenant isn’t a word you just throw around. Marriage is a Covenant, and while divorce is an option, it’s costly, time consuming and painful for a reason.
I’m not saying that swapping Covenants is impossible for Blizzard to do, but that it’s impossible to just say ‘swap covenant abilities’. Each covenant has three soulbinds which are improved by grinding for conduits, and and those soulbinds change or upgrade the covenant ability.
Without literally cloning everything across each covenant (and making the whole system complicated as hell, as you have TWELVE sets of soulbinds and conduits to work on), it’s impossible to just swap the covenant abilities.
To be perfectly honest, I would say the novelty of this topic is wearing off. Folks on GD, and elsewhere, don’t seem to comprehend when they’ve lost the round. It’s over. Pack up your bags and regroup once 9.0 drops and Blizzard starts getting player feedback.
People aren’t going to stop talking about it, and the only loser in this situation will be Blizzard. They are the ones who need customers, not the other way around.
I would flip this around and say you might as well accept that people aren’t going to stop talking about it and save yourself a ton of frustration, because you can’t do anything to keep people from making more topics about it.
You’re probably right. We’re not talking about rational operators. People have salt in their eyes and want to vent so they’re going to continue to vent even if it is futile at this point - Blizzard has committed onto a track and there’s no chance they’re going to change at this point, too much hinges on their current plan.
I’ll just stop visiting GD most likely, lol.
Nah. The powerless and pathologically addicted are the losers as they’ve always been in these situations. Blizzard will do what Blizzard wants to do and those who are unable to vote with their wallet because of their crippling addiction will simply have to deal with it.
Ya and they would just make those soul binds also effect whatever one you have. That is the most likely fix since they want the convent you pick to matter, it will matter in the mount you get to ride and transmog you have.
