Covenant allied race megathread

That’s fair. Though night fae could potentially go ally cuz night elves. necrolords go horde cuz undead. But neutral would be better yes.

Will kyrians have racial slow fall like demon hunter?

I was wondering if they’d do covenants as allied races. In the barbershop they could allow different bodytypes.

Venthyr- Venthyr
Stoneborn (gargoyles)
Dredgers
Ash ghoul

Ardenweald- Vorkals
Fauns
Faeries
Tree folk

Bastion - Ascended Kyrians
Forsworn
Stewards

Maldraxxus-
Liches
Skeletans
Bulky chosen
Arachnids

They would release these 4 covenant races with not as much customization but ability to choose different bodytypes! And a big variety of them.

There are absolutely not giving you four races in one.

They’re servants made from swamp muck. I doubt any of them have the aptitude to be anything other than warriors, and even that’s a stretch.

The majority of them are semi-mindless, feral beasts. That and the fact that they use the geist skeleton should indicate that they’re an unlikelihood.

Quadrupedal races aren’t getting in.

Neither is a race that’s always hovering off the ground.

Tirnenn do not look playable in any capacity. No one can look at one of those guys and think “Yeah, this would make a fine addition to the Alliance.” I’ve seen suggestions for equally impossible races like ogron and val’kyr, and this is up there with them.

They don’t like us.

The fact that they ain’t got legs is the least of this suggestion’s worries.

See third note.

Ugh.

I’d take them all for the horde if you don’t want them. No need to be rude.

One never knows. I think it’s better to say that the ascended, if playable, would go a Nightborne route. A bit of a shame as I do like some of their current animations. I remember the covenant campaign quest where we worked with the Maldraxxi to bring down the Margrave from the House of Constructs, there were a pair of ascended maintaining barriers, and their casting animations with the flying was pretty nice.

That said the wings are bulky. I wouldn’t be surprised if there was a toggle for them, or if Kyrians got a racial flight form, similar to worgen with Running Wild. A Demon Hunter double jump/glide option would also be neat.

Something I find rather interesting about the Covenants is how every class has representation in them. With that thought, perhaps all these options might simply come into play in other ways?

For example, Druids and Forms.

Kyrian Moonkin - Steward
Kyrian Cat Form - Larion
Kyrian Bear Form - Dragon Turtle (like Baedos or Sigilback)
Kyrian Flight Form - Etherwyrm
Kyrian Travel Form - Cloudstrider

Venthyr Moonkin - Stoneborn Gargoyle
Venthyr Cat Form - Hound
Venthyr Bear Form - Gargon
Venthyr Flight Form - Stone Fiend/Dredbat
Venthyr Travel Form - Sinrunner

Sylvar Moonkin - Tirnenn
Sylvar Cat Form - Soulshape Cat
Sylvar Bear Form - Soulshape Bear
Sylvar Flight Form - Faerie
Sylvar Travel Form - Vorkai

Maldraxxi Moonkin - Necromancer (robed skeleton)
Maldraxxi Cat Form - Skeleton
Maldraxxi Bear Form - Abomination
Maldraxxi Flight Form - Flayedwing
Maldraxxi Travel Form - Tauralus

I wonder if class skins will be the next feature. Covenants would be a nice lead up to something like class skins.

Tbph the thing about qaudrapeds? True. But blizzard said any biped is possible. Never once said anything against floating races and i’ve seen it pulled off in WoW like games many times without an issue.

Then why bother?
I’d much rather have the winged variety than the ones without, although I’d like to see full covenants playable and not just one variety out of each.

The more options the better, but I also feel like there’s a lot of existing races that should also be playable. They really need a decently sized team that just works on the races and cosmetics people ask for.

With the Maldraxxi, it’d be neat to see both the Chosen and the Skeletons playable. The skeletons use the kultiran animations as well. Then you’ve got the skeletal necromancer dudes who look to be Zandalari animations.

It’s also interesting that it seems like the Kyrian taking flight would work nicely for the 3 second mounting animation similar to a worgen going to all 4 to run.
Also giving them the ability to glide like a demon hunter would be great.

Agreed.

I’d quite like to see the Covenants become playable and not just a specific model in them.
Steward, Aspirant, Ascended
Dredger, Venthyr, Gargoyle
Sylvar, Centaur, Faerie
Chosen, Skellie, Necro

Let’s just go all out =D
I’d play a Kyrian Ascended and a Gargoyle and probably one or a few of the Maldraxxi.

I wish they were, I still want to play a Vrykul.

Just do them all. They’re just Kultiran and Zandalari =D Whip up some matching female sized skellies of both varieties and call it good.

You just take a shot of fel before getting lit up and you’re good

I’d happily play one as well.

I still wish demon hunters had an option to keep wings visible.

I want them to be races so badly but I think realistically only the Venthyr and Sylvar are the closest to getting them. The maldraxxi need faces and I think it would be entirely stupid to not have the winged Kyrians be a thing so I’d rather almost wait for those 2 as long as possible just to get the wings especially. At the same time though can we please get other races established in the past but not as Allied Races but just races with actual starting zones, Etherals, Sethrak, Ogres, Naga, Arrakoa. Any of those would also be completely amazing but this is about covenant races for now.

Are highly requested, I actually hope we get them in before covenant allied races…I’m literally “Allied a race Greedy”, the more the merrier, I need more…MORE!!!, haha.

But we won’t be getting new starting zones :frowning: , the whole point of Exiles Reach was it was a quick and easy solution for new starting zones, so outside core races, every new race added will go through Exiles Reach.

I would love some vampires

Just sub in the recruitment quests. I was kinda thinking about that for Kyrian. Maybe the recruitment quest could sorta be set up as you assisting a character ascend or something and that’d be the character you end up playing somehow. Maybe you choose to help a certain one when you start. shrugs

I enjoy the recruitment quests.

Allied races don’t…only core races do.

I’d like San’layn but it’d be cool if they did both.

ight elf worg

Blizzard did say more allied races are coming, and I do question whether they would go an entire 3+ years (last year of BfA + two years of SL) without adding new races.

However, these are races native to the Shadowlands. They’re not of Azeroth, they can’t leave Shadowlands. How would they write it in so it makes sense that suddenly these Kyrian, as an example, who are duty bound to the Shadowlands and incapable of leaving, can suddenly leave, and take up these Azerothian classes, returning to the realm of the living, to participate in our future adventures?

It doesn’t make sense.

I’m so tired of being stuck as this Void Elf but… that’s what I get for rooting through Alexstrasza’s spellbook when she wasn’t looking…

Every mount, pet, and piece of gear we get can leave the Shadowlands. I am certain these races are not as bound to the realms of the Shadowlands as we think they are.

Plus haven’t the Mawsworn already LEFT the Maw and therefore the Shadowlands? Clearly there’s a two way way to slip to and fro from the SL realms, even back in cataclysm ghosts could come back ala Jin’do.
