Yes, everyone wants to play the meta. In Wrath DK’s are new and really good dps and tanks. In Wrath Paladins are gods, no matter what spec you play.
Unfortunately, with this knowledge, people are going to oversaturate the population of DK’s and paladin’s.

My dude, I never said they didn’t have downfalls. Rets can still be gods without being gods in every aspect of the game.

Retribution is a noob stomper spec, wait for avenging wrath or a bubble of some kind before really pushing into him, he won’t be able to use both together and lay on hands is also locked out by forbearance for 2 minutes, during that downtime he’s much more vulnerable if he isn’t supported by allies, don’t try to trade blows with him in melee if your cool downs aren’t ready…or if you’re undergeared because he’s going to cream you.
But of course you’re playing in Battlegrounds and that’s like the wild west and there will be times you won’t have cool downs ready or he’ll have a healer nearby and his weaknesses will be covered.
As for why there’s so many, it isn’t because they’re super amazing in pvp it’s because they’re just better in general compared to TBC paladins and a bunch of people rerolled to them for now, eventually the population will even out again.

yeah im full season 4 pvp gear and a 2 day gear dk almost got me, i know my class and all but i dont know anything about dk, but it was scary, like a green gear doin that much damage? girl?

So, obviously a huge part of it is FoTM. But its also because you literally couldnt play Dks before pre patch. And paladins were reaaaaally painful to level so alot of people saved a boost for one.
Even if people arent main swapping they are killing time on their new classes and getting s4 gear
Pre-patch before expansion release is usually the wild west, where balance is out the window. Enjoy these couple of weeks of chaos, it will normalize when wrath is out properly

Was going to main one but changed my mind and decided on Lock.
Just got my Druid to 70 and starting on a Prot Warrior.
Will work on my DK after launch pnce the hype dies down for em.
The xp buff plus years of experience helped people level faster. In OG there would have been 2-3 dks and 20 rets. Not saying itsbetter but atleast there is more then just pink in there.
Bait Death Grip, then use your escape tool. Best they can do is chains of ice but that doesn’t help much if you’re already a mile away
If you’re melee…well, just don’t fight the DK
Id rather see dks and pallys then all the f****** rogues

I remember playing DK on pservers and ever top arena team was warr/pally. But pally in a cloth dress with shadowmourne. That was bis.
I dont think anyone will have shadowmourne on real wow since you cant buy it, but that comp was stomp fest. Unholy dk was also pretty nasty.
I feel like mobile classes will be able to outplay them. Classes like hunter and mage come to mind. I don’t mean overpower them, but through mobility they ought to be able to outplay them.
