I think I got 5 alts up to 420-430ilvl over Timewalking week and all of them have less than 290k hp, all die within 3s vs 1 geared player, and if they manage to get their cc+dmg chain off they do 1/5th of the dmg of my 455ilvl main. I dont see the problem if alts and new players were able to once again have at least 80% combat effectiveness once fully BG geared as they did at the start of this xpac, compared to effectively being 20 full levels lower than the average player, and being nothing but a burden to their team

Essences + Azurite Traits + Corruption + Crazy Trinkets
Can’t really scale these things.
Scaling is definitely still in. I bet your 420-430 alts have very poor stat allocations and it causes your “pvp template” to be crap.
In legion it was 10 item levels = 1% power creep. I believe in bfa they used the same concept for your primary stat (agil, str, int) except you are now in control of your secondary stat allocations.
If equally skilled, a 445 iL player with perfect secondary stat allocations will perform better than a 465 iL player with the very bad stat allocations. The scaled 2% bonus from his primary stat will not make up for his poor secondary stats.
At 438 ilevel, my druid has 372k health. What are you doing so wrong?
Probably level 6 neck and no azerite pieces since timewalking.
Yeah, it’s gotta be the neck to be missing out on that much stamina. Luckily you can throw a block of cheese at your monitor and get neck level 80 so it should be a short-term issue for OP.
I need to watch that movie today.
It’s friyay so perfect time to second monitor watch it.
I would, but I have FF7 to play.
I have never played a FF game.
I was pretty young when I played my first one, FF7, I didn’t get a hold of until 1999.
This one’s combat is pretty fun to play and the story so far is fantastic.
Seems likely, and knowing that’s how it works can help point alts in the right direction. It still sucks in that most of the sources of gear are dice rolls though, because if you’re trying to optimize your stat allocations that can mean some slots being stuck tens of ilvls behind because you can’t get good replacements to drop. Alts are kinda screwed either way.
The neck and cloak are deterministic at least, assuming you don’t go insane from repeating the quests associated with those for the 87th time, but that’s about it.
Yea this patch really helped picking up on how it works because of how high we can get our secondary stats right now at the end of an expansion plus playing with the same group of people repeatedly to maintain a control group so to speak.
The doors open in arena and an arms war rolls out on his mount already in D stance and we still shred him with his 500k hp. Armory shows him at 8% vers. Next game is an arms war with 350k hp and not in D stance but we can’t even get him to half hp. Armory shows him at 24% vers.
This is anecdotal of course but I really feel like you can judge how much vers a person has rather quickly right now as it directly impacts how fast you can move their health bar.
I only do the quests once to fill up the assault. 3 assaults + 9 daily quests doing those assaults + 1 lesser vision (I’m already there so why not) gives me enough coalescing visions for nearly 3 keys a week. I only run 1-2 horrific visions a week so I’m gaining ground while maintaining my sanity. I’m around 130k now.
I don’t think it’s as simple as it boiling down to stats though. When pikaboo pops his high level bike on average geared folk at 1700 it still clips them for half their health. I’ve seen chaos bolts hit for more than the enemies health and not one shot them but still do 90% of their health. The scaling is definitely nowhere near legion levels of scaling.
I miss wods scaling honestly. It was soooo much simpler for people to understand. It didn’t need an explanation from blizzard on how the numbers work. This one does and all we have is a stick figure drawing
Trinkets/az traits/essences/corruption are outliers to the scaling. However, those outliers combined are enough to kill someone by themselves and happen frequently with rng. That’s why threads like this get made. Actual class abilities vs class abilities though I think I am in the ballpark with my other posts in this thread explaining it.
Yeah I just don’t think the scaling is that strong… Again we have no idea exactly what it is which is kinda annoying…
Yeah it’s kinda crazy… Stormstrike is usually my top ability (barely). Then my next one is stormlash, breath of the dying and then gushing wounds… Wtb abilities doing damage again
because every class has 20-30 damaging sources and only the class ability ones are scaled. The other 75% are not.
Wed night Freddy got smashed by an udk in about 4-5 sec (the opener) and the udk’s details showed only 2 actual class abilities in the top 11 damaging sources with a total of 19 damaging sources.
19 damaging sources in 4-5 seconds… There is so much wrong with that line.
Yeah quite possible I suppose… Just annoys me when I see drest/bike trinkets hitting people for half their health. Like humans used to be op for being able to use two damage trinkets that did less than these trinkets
Poor Freddy that sounds pretty comical haha… I’m trying to heal on rsham with only one pack spirit and no vc so it’s pretty painful. Random bgs are fun though, my enhance set is pretty decent. That fist off raden is nutty.
