Could WoW players function without addons?

Again - no one is forced to use addons. I’m willing to bet the majority of the playerbase is blissfully unaware of addons, wowhead, or anything else outside of the base UI.

Sure they are, right up until blizzard decides to remove them from the game, or make it so there are no hints and no way to find them without addons, but you clearly arent listening as all you can see is " THEYRE TAKING MY ADDONS!" bye friend. im done here.

The WoW lifers would whine and complain, but they do that anyway and let’s be honest, if they haven’t quit by now, taking away addons won’t do it either.

And if you havent quit because I use add ons…you wont if I continue to use add ons.

i like the freedom blizzard gives for addons embrace them and enjoy . otherwise go to ff14 in which “illegally” use addons

I will not count Discord( or the olden days of vent and teamspeak) even though it is an addon because it does give you an advantage over those who do not use it.

You won’t count discord, because it gives you an advantage over those who do not use it… But are you not taking issue with addons because of any advantage they might offer?

Nope. Most addons are just ways to customize the UI. Letting players customize their experience is a great thing, so long as it doesn’t damage the integrity of the game.

3. If Blizzard don’t want something to be doable with addons, they have many tools to “break” them. They’ve done it before, they’ll do it again.

4. If there are enough likeminded individuals, there is nothing stopping them from engaging in content at all levels without the use of any addons. Even the raid frames, for healers, are better than they have been in the past. “Almost” usable.

The day Consoleport is unable to be used in WoW is the day I unsubscribe, uninstall, and never give WoW another thought or any of my $$$ ever again.

You can call me whatever names you want to make yourself feel better about it, you can call it a crutch or whatever you want to boost your own ego.

Won’t change that, and to be quite honest, I don’t care if you personally don’t like it.

I’m going to continue to use Consoleport and the rest of my QOL addons and you can just deal with it.

too many to take away now. SWTOR at least had it right with no addons and a very limited macro system. i don’t think it would be possible for peeps to play any more without them. devs probably count on them now in their planning. unfortunately it is what it is now. and so i play on.

People rely on them but you don’t need them. Even high end raiding you’ll be fine after a period of getting used to looking out for different things.

I for one doubt it especially with mythic raiding.

Raided mythic legion without Addons. Fell outta the gearing race during Uldir. It’s totally possible if you don’t mind being aware.

From my experience, they take all the fun outta the game. There’s a rush of adrenaline you get when you notice a mech last minute and just barely dodge it. It feels like a fight - not just some scripted event I putter through.

as are mine. I largely use the default UI, with the exception of Consoleport.

Most of the other addons I use are Informational and QoL based.

Ahh I see, interesting. I could not play WoW or any mmo with a controller, I do not know how you guys do it or console players do it with mmo’s made for consoles as well.
