Old man here for clarification. I received a notification “Congratulations on your promotion to level 2”. I don’t post too often on the forums but Immediately after that “Promotion” I was unable to post or reply on the forums. I put in a ticket and received a response from a polite individual who told me that there was an issue with changing characters on the forums and it was being looked into. I gladly said to myself “Good it wasn’t just me” and resolved my ticket. 4 days passed and I was still having the same issue. I reopened the ticket and was a tad bit snippy this time “no excuse for that” and the same Happily mannered person responded again saying that they noticed my PARENTAL CONTROLS were turned on and had forum posting turned off…
How did I turn something on that I did not know existed? COULD this be a glitch with the automated promotion notification? I have had this account since 2006 and this is really baking my noodle.
Again I wish to apologize to the wonderful support rep that put up with my grouchy bum.
Sometimes, the forums can be a bit “glitchy” and “bugged out” at times. Sometimes, relogging does the trick. And I highly doubt your silenced from the forums if you’re able to post on this character here in Customer Support.
The SFA’s are paid to deal with it
EDIT: Also, you by any chance didn’t run out of game time or a subscription? Because with the exception of a couple of area’s, won’t be able to post on the forums.
Oh no The issue was the Parental Controls feature that I apparently turned on? I had to go into the parental control settings for the FIRST TIME ever and turn forum posting back on. I was just curious about the level 2 notification thing. Because that was the only variable that happened that was new when i couldn’t post anymore.
You didn’t necessarily turn it on, but it would have been part of an overall compliance with some rules regarding minors, which means you likely registered as having age restriction on the account. It could have been based on the date you used when creating the Battle.net account.
