Cost of rank 7 + legendaries

I need a new legendary to be optimal in 9.2 and I see I can buy one for around 50k right now. How much more do you guys think the rank 7s will be? I’m worried if I don’t buy the rank 6 right now the price will go up because players will see that the rank 7s are crazy expensive. I don’t remember how the pricing was at the start of shadowlands.

Take out your usual mortgage payment and put that on tokens.

People in Legion: ‘Professions are worthless!’
People in BfA: ‘Professions are still worthless!’
People in Shadowlands: ‘Omg, these prices are outrageous, professions are too expensive!’

I don’t mind buying a wow token as I already have 125k gold but if legendaries cost more than a wow token I think that’s a little much and Blizzard needs to step in and do something. People want to play more than 1 spec and some classes need more than 1 legendary

if we go off of what happened in 9.1 i’d prolly guess the r7s are gonna be 50k-100k. I’m going off of my memory of how r5s / r6s were the first few weeks of CHORTHIA on the stormrage server.

Don’t waste your gold on a rank 7.

Also bump up your liquid worth by 10x if you want to stay somewhat afloat these days.

Maybe buy one closer to 9.2.5 (although that could spike because of cross faction play then).

It’s just gear, and will be worth nothing by arguably December/next year. If you were wanting a bruto (economic independence and mobility factor) or some other permanent cosmetic then I would say splurge.

That sounds reasonable. I think I saw some where players were saying they might be 300k lol

Its not impossible but i wouldn’t assume that high on most servers. Competition will slash those prices faster than levi on a titan.

It will be like the last season, with them starting off insanely expensive for the first month or two. Then once the cutting edge mythic raid guilds are done and more people have learned to craft them, the prices will start to drop.

i don’t buy that for a minute.

a streamer pointed out recently that legion archeology had more content & rewards than all shadowlands professions combined - which is pretty sad.

i’m sorry, but taking a borrowed power system, then making you re-craft it multiple times in an expansion is lazy design, with a progressison that feels worse than any of the others we’ve had (shelling out up to 300k gold at the start of a patch - depending on server size…we’ve never had to pay a dime for borrowed power in the past).

A good example of how they could have innovated professions would have been to add more interesting gems to the profession (similar to domination shards). Why are there stilll boring secondary stat gems? same with alchemy? what did we get there?

i think the new legendary system was mostly made to push wow token sales. They could easily have added impactful, useful gear (other than legendary powers) to crafting…cuz they’re still worthless - they reset in value each patch, and they hardly feel “legendary” because of it imo. :100:

It will entirely depend on the essence drop rate. Base rank 4 leggos are relatively cheap and made for 5-10k. The kicker cost to leggos is the essence system.

Current rank 5-6 leggos use 40 korthite crystals which have a server price of 500-1000 each. This is why current legendary bases are so pricey.

So the cost of new essence will dictate cost. Speculative video from a pretty good gold maker….

Bad faith raid logger and AH goblins buying up all the absurd amount of materials needed for Legendaries on top of all the cost to unlock the ‘rank’ for each legendary because of vendor mats: This is fine :3

(Couldn’t help but notice you have a low ilvl legendary, btw. Someone doesn’t live what they preach.)

If you’ve ever raided or cared about how gear is acquired, you’d realize real fast that the Legendary ilvl itself is not the reason why you get the Legendary.

But I digress, you were lurking?

Yes let me check and see what ilvl raiders have- ah… even your friends in the other thread that haven’t cleared mythic have 262 leggos.

I wonder if people in Vanilla, BC, Wrath were all farming 5x5 or 4x4 farm groups for leggo mats or using TSM to snipe all mats under certain prices constantly, and using mousewheel macros with TSM operations to spam-post hundreds to thousands of auctions quickly. Totally had to do that to keep up and ‘make gold’ from professions back then, mmmyep…

Levelling the vessel crafting required to actually make a legendary is more expensive than buying one.

Unless you spend 24/7 for weeks farming the materials, you’re not ever going to get enough of them to make 60 items just to reach rank 4 for the same cost as just buying one. That’s a massive waste of time for any adult human being with a job and any attempt to maintain a life at the same time.

When people want professions to be useful, they don’t mean at the expense of literally all of your time or in-game currency.

Again, this is the end of the patch. Not only did they have more time, but buying an upgrade for a legendary now would be a colossal waste when higher ranks will be on the AH next week.

Yea, well you wouldn’t know anything about Carapace Farming for ringing the gong for AQ40, so of course it’s a mystery to you.

Yeah I’m sure and… having that ilvl will be beneficial to when raids release on normal/heroic on patch release. I’m sure.

Someone didn’t play Classic, did they? Let alone the original release that took quite some time for… a raid that released at the same time for the entire server so people often didn’t throw tons of gold at it then.

So don’t play on Lightbringer realm then

No, not really. Even if I bought the highest rank, my ilvl would go up maybe 7 points if that?

Someone didn’t play Vanilla because the raid didn’t release until after the War Effort and the Ringing of the Gong to initiate the pre-loaded introduction to the raid.

Assembling the Scepter was one of the best questlines in all of WoW and people farmed Carapaces for days just to get the mount.

I did, and I even played Classic version. Though, your own account says you never did either. Curious.

Very few chosen people within specific guilds that often hoarded the mats or the farm spots, and for Classic was made a lot worse on PvP servers via multi-faction coorperation to keep guilds they deemed not worthy out?

Haha.
