Corpsegrinder NPC

Thrash talk “and that’s what it was” will exist no matter how many NPCs are removed.

Trash talk will always be a thing when it comes to being competitive.

Sure, it’s calmed down a bit since back then, but back in 2011 you used to hear things like what he said all the time, and worse.

This is an example of twisted humor that’s dark, albeit creative.

Not “allies should just go pew pew irl lelz”

And how many cases of suicide did you hear back then? I can’t remember a single one.

The game is rated T for a reason.

Telling someone to unalive themselves is not rated T, I’m sorry.

There’s literally nothing wrong with removing this NPC. It never should have been added in the first place.

And this is coming from someone who is against a lot of the changes they’re making.

I’m still of the mind we should remove every npc and direct reference, EVERY one. Doesn’t matter who it is.

You’d literally remove everything in the game.

Dwarves are an entire parody of the Irish.
Trolls are a parody of tribes in Africa.

Etc.

I meant every direct reference to real people.

Paris hilton, Robin williams, etc.

Not references to fictional characters, or broad references like what you mentioned. (although, i’m sure a lot of people would like all of redridge redone)

How do people make it in the real world if they’re too sensitive to handle trash talking in a video game.

You will continue to suffer if you have an emotional reaction to everything that is said to you. True power is sitting back and observing everything with logic. If words control you that means everyone else can control you. Breathe and allow things to pass. You know the whole sticks and stones argument you were taught as a child…

And how would you possibly be able to confirm that? It isn’t a physical good, it’s manufacture is artificial, controlled directly by Blizzard and the algorithm they use to determine pricing… it in no way shape or form requires another player to buy it for cash in order for me to get it for gold.

I get thats the premise sold to people, but there is literally nothing stopping bliz from selling tokens for cash, or for gold entirely independent of one another and just modulating prices according to company directive or to squash any anomalous purchasing activity…

It’s just not the same as buying an auction item created by a player who set the price according to the current market… With the token, Blizzard is the supplier and regulator, and they can create an infinite number of the product. They will only ever make decisions that are advantagious for business.

That argument only works in one direction. They are not going to allow people to buy more tokens for gold than tokens that exist, that would lose them money. And we’ve actually seen tokens on the AH run out before.

It’s guaranteed that every token bought for gold can be linked to a token bought for cash.

However, since you are guaranteed to get your gold with X period of time after buying a token for cash, it’s also likely they just manufacture the gold for you if your token doesn’t “sell”

We’re not too sensitive. There was an issue, and it’s being easily handled. It’s you who seems overly sensitive to the removal of pixels.

I think the main takeaway is that no one (important) really cares about it being removed

He’s racist, sexist, and homophobic. He should have never been given an NPC. Blizzard giving him an NPC shows what kind of disgusting atmosphere Blizzard held for so many years.

Good riddance!

An honest question to consider for everyone wishing to keep the Corpsegrinder NPC: Madeleine Roux. (I can hear the groans through my screen)

Supposedly there’s an NPC honoring her in Maldraxxus somewhere.

Roux is a Blizzard writer whose social media is apparently full of hatred towards white people (Roux herself is white so far as I can tell).

So far as I know, despite her apparently hateful views, she hasn’t told anyone to die, in jest or otherwise.

I’ve seen several threads asking for the removal of the NPC in her honor in the past few weeks.

Should Madeleine Roux’s NPC be kept in the name of “free speech”, to avoid “cancelling” her? Are people being “too sensitive”, when it comes to the things she says do you feel?

The question here, as with Corpsegrinder, is not “how do we feel about what they say” it’s “should the WoW team pay tribute to them with an NPC in the game, thereby (intentionally or not) endorsing their views”.

He can have whatever dumb opinions he wants. I watched a few interviews and while he sometimes seems nice he does appear a bit insecure.

Someone once called him the Freddy mercury of death metal and his reply was something along the lines of “they better not be calling me gay!”

It was pretty stupid to show that interview at blizzcon though. 100% on Blizzard and Corpsegrinder, despite his opinions is not in the wrong, Blizzard is. I guess samwise was too blinded by his crush to think straight before doing that. To think:" yeah, half my player base wants to be insulted. This is a great idea" dudes got the intellect of a potato.

Ps. It seems he’s mostly upset by elves and paladins so I don’t think he’d be a fan of 40% of today’s horde.

As somebody with a Blood Elf Paladin, I’m doing my part!

Hahahaha the first part of what you said is completely ridiculous.

Yes, but I don’t recall him telling people to kill themselves (he may have though, I could be wrong). I think the biggest controversy was that he dropped some very unsavory terms towards the LGBTQ community and they didn’t edit or censor it, just played it in front of the convention audience right before he took the stage to sing for Elite Tauren Chieftain.
