I find it ridiculous that people think copium is a real word but in actuality it’s not even a real word it’s like saying funner is a real word when it’s not. People just love to make up words to use for their own personal gains when it fits their own agenda.
like “ain’t”, lol
Copium is in fact a word.
However, the way people use it around here and on social media is wrong.
I don’t see a problem with this in a virtual ecosystem.
Ain’t is in the Oxford dictionary so it’s officially a word.
Welcome to language? There’s no such thing as a, ‘real word.’ They’re all made up and given definitions and meaning by us.
lmao…NOW it is…that was the point lol
Sounds like someone’s on the copium about being told they’re on copium
Bounced on my boi’s modern slang terms for hours to this thread.
I don’t know what their issue is. They’re probably on copium.
All words are made up.
Ain’t is a real word. Also what qualifies a word, really? Just a largely agreed upon group of people that accept it as one. I don’t think a dictionary should be the Arbiter of Words. If people understand what you are saying, and what it means, it’s likely to become a word. And some words we no longer use today can still be considered “words”, but if you said them in common settings people would be clueless as to what it means.
You tell 'em, Qamaits.
Someone has to keep these whippersnappers in line.
Yeah when a significant portion of speakers of the language use a word for more than two hundred years, yes it becomes a “real” word. You won’t find a southerner who doesn’t say ain’t.
well the dictionary is a bunch of made of words that at some point people made up you can’t make words up in present time to?
which is why we have a butt ton more words today than 1000 years ago
You can! It happens all the time. Every generation takes words and changes them somehow.
you also forgot to bring up hopium to op.
