I wouldn’t know, I’ve never been anywhere near a 3k PVP rating. So we’re largely out of my depth if that’s where the discussion is going.
If anything , convoke needs a buff . Kyrian is better. Just line, kick, or cc convoke.
If you quote Einstein and make his letters like that, it doesn’t make him wrong suddenly. Why the hell do people not know how to kick, silence and/or LoS convoke?

The concern here is that an ability exists that is so inherently powerful that kicks and CC need to be held to avoid being globaled. It just turns into a waiting game. Doesn’t seem enjoyable from either side.

Yeah, the RNG is st00pid and you could just run in blndfolded and hit the button and kill someone with good luck. But, if you are not doing things to set it up then it’s quite often just going to be a dud.

I think condemn is just asinine in general. Its not unusual to see a warrior with 30-40% of its damage coming from this brain dead ability. Is this 8.3 gushing wounds 9 stack? Nobody elses cov ability is literally their main source of dps. Also, its 30-40% of their damage as magic damage, which is just heinous on a class that has always been physical / bleed damage. Its too simple and does too much, and doesn’t even require thoughtful use of the ability.
As for convoke, it should just not exist. Like blizzard sat down and created the ability fully aware that it would piss everybody off in PvP. Its so obvious - PvP players in virtually any game hate one shot slot machines. I think they should nerf it in PvP so that nobody uses it ever again. Just side line the ability since it is horrendous design that will never be balanced. They can work on the other 3 options, with Kyrian already being fully competitive and more consistent for everybody.
I’d say this is the first time that I have seen someone able to actually put substance to convoke being broken. And I largely agree that this is why the ability is a problem.
I do not think that convoke is the only ability that fits this. It certainly is the easiest ability to throw under this bus or put a face on, but I think Doom winds leggo + ascendence + a well timed Lust/Hero is just as broken as convoke is, and you can’t just kick an enh shaman burst. You have to stun/blind/disarm.
Not singling Shamans out either. So many other classes have hyper burst that requires fast reaction. It’s refreshing that so many classes have ways to participate in the burst meta. Just can’t single druids out when every argument against convoke can also be applied to other classes in some way.

If you don’t engage your brain before using convoke it will get shut down by everyone but the worst players unless you draw the triple cherries and instagib someone. It’s a horribly designed ability, but yes, unless you don’t care about spewing out a bunch of dud convokes - it requires some set up.

more realistically, make starsurge on the same school tree as convoke, and make convoke ramp up to damage.
its a 4second channel,
0-1second are minor spells, moon fire, rejuvs, rakes, etcs
1-2second are slightly stronger wraths and equivalent
2-3second are strong spells, starsurges here!
3-4second are nukes… full moon
so if youre a goober and just pop out of stealth with convoke up, its going to do itty bitty damage
but if you have a brain and can set up a GO on a target and cast for 4 seconds… you are going to nuke them.
