It’s actually not. 99% of the fotm Druid players will pop out of stealth, hit incarnation, and convoke all in the same global. You literally just play los and wait for the Druid to come out, then stun / line / literally anything and they might as well afk because you win after that.
I lost to 1 Druid in 50 some games of 2’s yesterday, and that’s because his Rogue buddy instantly killed me in the opener and I wasn’t in LOS so he hit convoke and killed my partner (who was mostly afk since we were facing dws).
“You play a Druid so you can just afk and do the same thing”
I did it on my Mage and my Hunter as well. You literally just wait for the Druid to come out, if he “root beams” you and your partner has brain damage and can’t stop the Convoke, you hit turtle.
I’m not downplaying convoke, I think it’s stupid. I kill people instantly on my Feral, and then I turn around and convoke on whoever is left just to BM them. The amount of brainpower required to randomly RNG kill someone with it is stupid, but there’s not a lot you can do to fix it outside outside of just having a brain and stopping it. It’s a channel and a cast, you can interrupt it with every single CC in the game outside of Poly.
i got like 1k games this season already since experience is the best teacher. it shook 6 years worth of rust off and i got my awareness back for the most part.
And then at 1:25 you see the Rogue basically 100-0 a tank. Convoke is 100% the issue, Paladin isn’t broken at all, and there’s no other spec in the game that actually has a problem other than Druid with Convoke which is a channeled ability that can be stopped via literally any CC in the game.
That isn’t really a fair comparison, since tanks take increased damage in pvp. Prot is only broken because of nf’s blessings of the seasons and wog, but if you nerf wog prot wont be nearly as much of a problem.
No, you don’t. (Guess I found myself reading this thing after all). Dying once in a video doesn’t prove anything. R1’s lose. Glads lose. They’re not perfect. But they are where they are due to their consistency. They don’t typically lose to it. Linking one or two or even three clips of any class dying when tens of thousands of games happen is just silly. Means nothing. Want me to link you videos of people shooting 3pters backwards? I could. Doesn’t mean I’m dumb enough to claim it’s normal.
We know the rng can be dumb at times. Many of us have advocated for changes ourselves. But the fact is glads are still glads with convoke in the game and 1500 people will still be 1500 if/when it gets nerfed. That’s just true.
A record about a single player killing another player in two seconds with class X proves that class X can kill in two seconds.
You are wrong.
i got a print showing a druid hiting 50k in two seconds. This print proves druids can 50k in two seconds.
This is not even close to “doens’t prove anything”.
Except that’s not your point. You’re arguing the most petty version of semantics there is. You were trying to say “high rated players can’t deal with it” when by and large, they do. Point out small outliers all you want. It still doesn’t disprove that good players don’t die to convoke nearly as often as lower rated players. This is of course true of all things which just shows that convoke, like any other ability, is just a ability. Yeah it has rng cheese and I hope it’s changed. But it’s not ruining the game or anything. Good players rarely, in general due to it which is why good boomys most of the time don’t even play it.
And that YouTube video of ven shows his bad viewer partner die doesn’t it? Lol. Not even him. Not like that matters anyway.
As someone that actually plays Druid, the one thing about convoke is why does Resto druid only get 12 spells, and the other specs get 16? Something is fishy there. They should probably ALL be 12 spells, or at least for the love of the game please remove FULL MOON from the rotation, especially when you don’t even have it spec’ed.
I agree, I’ve been vocally saying this since beta. Convoke should have a set rotation of spells that it casts, it shouldn’t randomly decide “I’m going to cast regrowth 10 times as a Feral in raid” or “I’m going to Rake/Thrash the yellow mobs while I’m casting it as a Restoration Druid”.
The RNG of it, the lack of stability to the cast, and everything else involving it is incredibly frustrating to play with. I put up with it because I’ve been on the Night Fae train since the day I saw it, but from a PvE / Gameplay perspective it’s garbage.
Yeah, it claims on the spell text it “favors” spells from your form, but I’m casting rakes and swipes in Boomchicken form. When in normal form, its supposed to prioritize heals, but instead I just throw a bunch of balance spells. Even in Bear form, I throw a bunch of balance spells. I have no idea what exactly is going to happen, but usually a lot of balance spells… unless you are in cat form…
