I’m not sure if this is a Mac issue, or just a configuration/options issue on my Mac. Basically, I play WoW with a controller (this problem exists both with and without console port).
On my PC if I start casting fire breath the right analogue stick can be used to aim the spell both in and out of combat. However, on my MacBook Air M3 casting fire breath out of combat the right analogue stick rotates my camera but does not rotate the spell cast making it impossible to aim. In combat it works as expected.
Does anyone know what option I have turned on my PC that I don’t have on my Mac? I’ve tried comparing but since I can’t be logged in to both at the same time it’s difficult, and so far I haven’t been able to figure it out on my own. I’m sure it’s just some checkbox somewhere that controls this behavior, any help would be very appreciated!
The way the Mac works really doesn’t support what you are trying to do. There are even limits to how you can bind the controllers. This would definitely be an issue on the Mac side of things. Sorry man. However with that said, if you manage to find a 3rd party DMG that allows the binds the way you want them great, but I warn you that could cross the automation line.
Mac with console port and an xbox controller works totally fine with every other spell in the game. Also, it works as expected as long as I’m in combat so the Mac is clearly capable of doing it - it’s just out of combat where it doesn’t work.
EDIT:
Fixed it! Turns out the option I was missing was
ConsolePort > Interface > Movement > Turn Character With Camera
My Mac had it set to in combat and my PC had it set to always. Setting my Mac to always resolved the issue. Leaving this here in case anyone else has this issue in the future.
