Continued Diversity & Representation in Customization

Wrong, it makes sense in say humans and if you want elves sure and some things like that, but having white, black and brown etc…goblins would just be stupid as they are supposed to be greenish.

No, I’m right. If Blizzard decided they could have the range of human skin tones, thats entirely within their right to do. Its their game and their version of goblins.

That said you and I both know that I was referring to the human skin tone races and not the others. Though I don’t mind that concept you outlined myself.

If a troll gets a hair cut (afro or otherwise) does the hair regenerate?

To give my 2 cents on this, you know Fantasy faces can have their version of “White” skintones and “Black” skintones, right? I mean a Light green Orc to a Dark Green orc that is?

Plus, Humans had their dark skinned option for like years now, so it makes sense there would be a darker version of that.

Hair isn’t alive so no I’d think.

Just pointing out too the thread is about diverse options added to human skin toned races and the continued hope that moving forward that is still a priority for them.

Honestly I wish some of the new dratchyr visage stuff was available on some of the other races. They have some good hairstyle variety in comparison to say blood elves who lack and curly/wavy hair options for example.

And for the love of all that is green and good…

Unlock the faces from skin colors!

Not to mention, the braids genuinely do not look great on female humans.

Little more work to do there.

Yeah I would def want the quality to be looked into too. At least especially w hair styles.

The skin tone additions / disparity I noticed I feel like would be or should be relatively easy / quick to add (?)

If the texture is already done, it might be fairly quick, though of course, there’s always mapping and redoing any texture that doesn’t work on the new model.

The cynical part of me thinks the extra work with color mapping involved is why the humans wound up with 3 chunks of mutually exclusive faces.

Need the most customizations out of any race in game!

From my POV I was willing to give Blizzard a kind of breather or benefit of the doubt as they rolled out customization but I’ve been talking about the lack of diversity / noting the disparity in various threads we’ve been in for awhile now.

I always use BEs as my example w the skin tones but if a makeup company launched a foundation w only 14 shades and only 4 were for darker skin tones and they only came AFTER the first 10, the make up company would be out of business. Why isn’t there an equal number of skin tones showing the nuance for everyone.

And why do Kul Tirans only have like 6 options period? None of that makes sense.

And then the fact basically none barring humans get the hair style options, and as you point out even they could use some work.

Coupled w what others have pointed out and I tried to do w the OP that the locking of faces etc isn’t a good vibe imo.

It’s very side eye worthy imo especially since they claimed adding diversity and representation was important to them and touted a main selling point of SL on customization, so coming out of SL I find myself less willing to give them the benefit of the doubt when it comes to something important like helping facilitate more representation for peoples characters.
