Dire Maul I’m kinda hoping it’s taken by the Ogres and then they join the Horde and playable ogres.
Feathermoon Stronghold seems a bit small to me and far too deep into Horde territory.
I’d rather see em either establish something in Darkshore and push some back into Ashenvale or establish their old capital on Mount Hyjal.
Also as a side note I wanna see the night elves do something in Felwood as well.
The Dire Maul ogres oppose the horde, its the Stonemaul Clan in Feralas that’s loyal to the horde. So I could see Dire Maul retaken, especially with the Shen’drelar within the ranks of the Kaldorei now. They’d know all the secrets of the city.
I like some representation in those two cities even if other capitals were maintained. They are the power centers for their respective factions. Not only would people be gravitating to them for various things but it would in turn lend to some influence from various other members of the factions, and that’s regardless if it was the only city Blizzard wanted to maintain anyways, that’s how I see it though.
The Shen’dralar don’t seem to have much interest in returning. And again deep in horde territory.
The Ogres currently there I want to see be either taken over by Stonemaul/join em or just decide to join the Horde. It’d be the best place to put a home for playable ogres.
Also aren’t the Stonemaul in Dustwallow?
They live in Dustwallow but they set up a base in Feralas to help the Horde deal with the Gordunni.
It’s directly next to the Horde’s primary zeppelin hub.
I mean it’s the only real choice for a new capital but my god they are going to get ROLLED.

From Gorgrond originally yeah, which means they’d be native to there not Dustwallow. Wording corrected.

Ah I see. I need to get out there. Haven’t been there Horde-side since before the Cataclysm.
Horde Zepplin hub is in Orgrimmar… Thats a zone and a massive mountain away. Remember these places are also much larger than they are represented in game. Its plenty of room. Besides I doubt the Night Elves wont prepare this time… Or you know… They’ll forget that they have mages, and druids and other things that could have protected their home better but whatever. Blizz writes poorly.
I will wish and hope and pray for more customization options (that people actually want) to be added! (for everyone not just void/blood elves!)
Customization, the only reason I’m hyped for Shadowlands.

So far, the story seems so underwhelming. I’m even worried for post-prepatch.

I’d also need those eyes (a non-glow blue atm, but I think they’re gonna be those new purple ones in Shadowalnds), a Void-proof comb, and a guild called Mage Trainer.
Speaking of the purple eyes, I hope we get them for belves and velves. Would be just stupid for them to invent another new eye colour just for NPCs.
Probably wont happen but i hope at some point they fix/touch up on some of the older hairstyles. Human Males are probably one of the more obvious examples of this but the newer hair styles/textures coming with Shadowlands looks sooooo much better than how the hair styles ended up in WOD with the new models. Something about hair styles on those WoD models was way off. It’s like that for other races too but for male humans i really noticed it. It’s really hard to miss when you compare the Shadowlands hair to the WoD updated hairs.
Settling in Feralas or Desolace would be my favorite outcome for a new capital, especially in Eldre’thalas/Dire Maul, putting a little more emphasis on the Highbornes presence in Night Elven society. On a meta level this could also provide a player hub in that part of the continent, roughly on the other end of where Theramore used to be.
Nordrassil is okay, but they’re fairly close to Orgrimmar. I also wouldn’t mind seeing the Night Elves either take back Ashenvale or help the Worgen take back Gilneas and settle there.
And I still expect nothing at all.
