For me, I’d like mages to get a time-magic themed healing spec as a fourth option. I’d also like other single role classes to get an additional spec that is a different role, like say a fencing/swashbuckler themed rogue tank spec for example.
My hypothetical mage healing spec would basically have the non-spec specific spells that all mages have, with their only dps spells being the base ones:
-
Frost Bolt - Primary nuke (like smite for healing priests or wrath for healing druids). It’s also part of the base kit so it makes sense.
-
Fire Blast - Instant nuke. Other healers have instant dps spells too and it’s already part of the base mage kit.
-
Arcane Explosion - Again part of the base kit and all healers have some sort of aoe damage spell.
Remove Curse would get a spec specific upgrade so it can act like a typical healer cleanse.
They’d get a single target and aoe heal that “reverses time to undo injuries”.
Beyond that, the devs could figure out what else would need adding and if any of the base mage spells need to be replaced by something spec specific (like how Shadow Word: Pain gets replaced by Holy Fire on a Holy Priest) to avoid any OPness.

Thanks! I changed my transmog, but the circlet I’m using just didn’t look right with previous hairstyle. I’m not entirely thrilled with this one, but it looks decent enough. I’m hoping down the road that I’ll get another short hairstyle I like that works with the circlet.

I could be wrong, but I think each healer cleanse does two specific ailments atm. So you’d only need to add one other type to the move for healer mages.
As for rogues, I’d love a ranged weapon using spec. I know it’s not another type in the trinity, but at least it’d let them be ranged dps as well as melee, and let any class in the game besides hunters get any use out of ranged weapons.

If you were going to build a chronomaster spec you’d want to recycle some of the spells from the Elisande fight. Every spec inherits a couple of boss abilities.

Chronos in SMITE gets a time rewind ability that basically functions like Elisande’s. If mages got that, it’d be the new pally bubble haha.

Could make it an ability of the spec, an ice block you can walk around with. Could do something cool with sand.

I’d love a sand themed time spec. It’d be like playing as Chromie!

It’s a crime she doesn’t have a spec. So many of the iconic characters got a spec.

Yea I can see a Rogue ranged spec being desirable. I just really wish the dps only classes had an option for at least one other role.
As for who can currently cleanse what:
- Priests - Magic + Disease
- Druid - Magic + Curse + Poison
- Shaman - Magic + Curse
- Paladin - Magic + Poison + Disease
As for my hypothetical Chronomancer healing mage spec:
That makes the most sense to me and Priest & Shaman only remove 2 things so there’s precedent for that.

Sounds good to me. Mages not being able to remove magic effects kinda strikes me as odd to begin with anyway.

They keep a tight grip on what can remove magic effects because a lot of the more technical debuffs on bosses are magic specifically as a healer mechanic.

Unrelated to the current discussion, but I guess slightly related since it’s about classes:
Would it be OP if they made Camo baseline for hunters, and had the talent where it was on the talent tree basically turn it into rogue style stealth?

I’d be fine with that, personally. Rogue has such a serious kung fu grip on utility. Shadow priests should get shroud too.

World Renown Shaman Thrall hates swords.

I bet he likes some “haft”

I’m gonna get in trouble for this aren’t I?

This would be my favorite thing ever

I’m not sure they’d ever let camo work like stealth or prowl since it might feel too “infringey”, but I could see camo being baseline without the heal and the talent adding the heal and maybe shortening the cooldown and/or adding movement speed.
In any case, I love camo on my Hunter

Did you guys enjoy yourselves a Christmas this year? I ended up having a good one with my family this year.

It doesn’t seem that strange to me, in some art mages already use lightning magic.
Also I’d love a melee/battlecaster that offhands staves.
look up high elf warmage, I’d post the image but the forums won’t let me so…
