Continuation of New Customisation Options for: Void Elves, Blood Elves, & misc high elves

I think we have a discord project

But how will we ever choose what specific alts to do it with?

Yea it just made it unappealing to me sadly. Although I still want it. Just donā€™t like to coordinate stuff like that. And the functionality would be lost to me anyway.

Where have we ever seen alliance aligned or even neutral high elves ever use blood elf voice lines?
Iā€™ve only ever seen them use night elf voice lines or new lines made specifically for high elves of the silver covenant.

I brought it up because it was in relation to the original conversation you joined into.

Itā€™s what we were taking about.

Well we just got the customization, itā€™s prepatch. If we see any lore updates it would probably be in the new books or whatever patch comes after castle nathria. Seeing as the focus of the patch will be on shadowlands.

Sure.

Speaking of unanswered questions. One thing Iā€™ve been wondering about is whether dark rangers created by Sylvanas have necromantic powers since the original ones had them as a result of being banshees inhabiting elven bodies.

Iā€™ve been wondering that too.

Honestly Iā€™ve been wondering if theyā€™re all still bansheeā€™s? Which is a cool idea.

If theyā€™ve retconned it, Iā€™ll be heartbroken. Itā€™s by far one of the coolest concepts for a suite of abilities.

Me raise elf bow boy, elf now have magic for no reason is so much lamer. Hopefully the fact that all the noteable night elven Forsaken are female suggests at least some of them are banshees.

I heard my name mentioned and now I have concerns.

If you look in the Boralus horde hub with the horde seafog humans we see night elf dark rangers there of both genders.

Male banshee are now a thing as of Legionā€¦ I know thatā€™s weird but theyā€™ve had em around.

Yes they did actually, in an interview about why the Blood elves were getting gold eyes they said that ā€œcanonicallyā€ only priests and paladins would have golden eyes, but that if the player wanted their elf to be purified by the sunwell for some reason, that option was left open to them. Now we know many people pick golden eyes for random reasons that have nothing to do with the light, but that does not make it canon. I can provide you the interview if you wish.

Thereā€™s no speculation to be had.

Which was effecting herā€¦ which would make herā€¦ come on, I know you can do it.

Because for that NPC to be a blood elf with blue eyes, it would require far more speculation on how they managed to have blue eyes with no canonical lore to support it. Itā€™s far more simple to look at it in the way itā€™s always been used - a means to differentiate High elves from Blood elves. Until the character comes forth and says ā€œIā€™m a blood elfā€ or ā€œIā€™m a high elfā€ taking any position requires speculation, so it makes very little sense to bark at one side while doing the exact same thing yourself.

Honestly just let this go. All we want now is void elf to have white hair like Vereesa and Alleria blonde. Do not care if it say void elf under my name i care about looks only.

The whole point of the subrace thing was to offer players customizations that would allow them to choose their characters history, and path regardless of what race the game says they are. At least in my example thereā€™s evidence of blue eyed elves already showing up among blood elves, and yet we havenā€™t seen a single blue eyed void elf. And even then your own logic would still defeat itself as it would make no sense for any Void elf to call themselves a High elf if they had just readily joined the void elf culture.

We have high elves in game who use Blood elf voice lines. Try again.

I meanā€¦ We always knew that about you.

Do we though? Iā€™m not saying youā€™re wrong, but if you could provide some examples, Iā€™d appreciate that. I admit that itā€™s possible that, given all the NPCā€™s in the game, itā€™s likely I missed such High Elves using Blood Elf voice lines, but as far as I know and have seen, High Elf NPCā€™s have always used Night Elf voice lines. Even Captain Thaloā€™thas Brightsun uses a Night Elf male voice set.

Thereā€™s a few nebulous NPCā€™s who use Death Knight eyes and Blood Elf voice lines (Rachele and Koraud in Dalaran come to mind), that I just assume are Blood Elves, but perhaps those are supposed to be High Elves and they just got the wrong eyes? It wouldnā€™t be the first time Blizzard has screwed up High Elf eyes.

Or are you referring to Lathysra Goldenstar whoā€™s brand new with 9.0? Sheā€™s the first and only case of a Thalassian with blue eyes (that arenā€™t Death Knight eyes) using a Blood Elf voice set that Iā€™ve come across. That supports your claim obviously, I just wanted to be sure there werenā€™t others I didnā€™t know about.

EDIT: Just to be clear, Iā€™m not trying to argue anything here. I am just genuinely curious to know if thereā€™s other High Elf NPCā€™s besides Lathysra using the Blood Elf voice set.

Iā€™ve occasionally ran into them when Iā€™ve been questing, but Iā€™ve never read too much into it until people started bringing them up. Iā€™m gonna be leveling a character from scratch so Iā€™ll likely run into them again and compile a list.

But Iā€™ve seen High elves with Blood elf voice lines, and Iā€™ve seen blood elves with High elf voice lines. Cerie Larksong is a good example of this - a blood elf model who uses the high elf voice dialogue that I recently ran into at the Argent grounds.
