I could see them being neutral, except I don’t expect will ever get another neutral race.
I want more skin colors and hair styles/colors.
Void elves have a racial of how much friends we are with Ethereals.
Since we’ll never get neutral races again. Ethereals would go alliance.
Same as how classically neutral goblins went horde.
Yeah will never happen again.
Void Elves are pretty chummy with Ethereals, so it makes sense they’d go where they are if they’re forced onto one faction.
It doesn’t really matter anyway, with void elves in the picture Ethereals aren’t likely to happen
Pretty much. Thus my mockup.
IMO it actually makes them more likely to happen as Ethereals now have a foot in the story therefore a stronger presence in warcraft. Before that and after BC they were pretty much just a convenience for things like transmog.
They had one via Alleria. It kind of feels like we got velves instead.
I’m not so sure Ethereals would automatically go Alliance.
With Alliance having both a Light-centric race (Lightforged) and a Void-centric race (Void Elves), they have both of those opposing forces represented. On the other hand, the closest race to Light-centric on the Horde are Blood Elves. If the devs feel a need for a Void-centric race on the Horde to balance that out, it might be a reason for Void-Ethereals to join the Horde.
Now while Locus Walker works with the Void Elves and therefore the Alliance, there are other Ethereals who don’t like him very much and could be predisposed to join the Horde as a counter to Locus Walker’s efforts.
I guess I can see that, since they do have something in common.
But I’m not sure if that would be the same for every Ethereal.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m still the type that thinks adding even more races will only achieve Blizzard tossing more on to the pile of underdeveloped races, but even with VEs in the picture, I still can’t help but to see them as neutral, but…
Always figured they’d be neutral.
Void ones for alliance arcane ones for horde.
That would be more like two races that both happen to be Ethereals. That could work.
On a side note…
Everyone here asking for fancy races… and here I’m sitting dreaming of playable tuskarr for Horde because I just want to /poke their bellies…
Omg this so much.
Velves were an idea that was born for the elf exchange. Had nothing to do with supplanting a race for alleria. But more with coming something on the spot so the horde got nightborne.
Doubt it blizzard doesn’t do races based on another race hates the other side. They make a story to have the race hate the other side afterwards.
There are many groups as with many races but different groups of one race don’t join both factions and would never do since Pandas.
I always thought they were a missed opportunity.
Honestly, when they were first introduced, I thought they would end up playable.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like there’s any hope on the horizon for Tuskarr fans.
I figure the issue would be the females.
Which is an issue for many races sadly.
I meant that said idea kind of ate into the Ethereal’s potential. Don’t get me wrong, I’d be happy if they made them their own race. I just don’t expect it.
I just mentioned it as a possibility since there’s in game reference to some Ethereals not liking Locus Walker. Ethereals could very well be Alliance if ever they were made playable. I just wanted to point out it might not necessarily be a sure thing.
On the topic of Ethereals:
Can we all agree it’s a shame the Soul-Trader gear isn’t moggable?
