Well Lann, i can assure you that im not against diverse skin tones, as that would be a lack of self awareness on my part because id be forgetting my own heritage.
Its not my príde standing in my way, it’s the fact of… how else am i supposed to describe how i see something? Even like Fezzy said just now:
What’s a better term to use, that isn’t going to be taken as an offense for why i’m not liking something but still trying to explain what im trying to convey?
I don’t see VE with baby hairs, nor did that ever cross my mind when i saw the hair styles.
Seles described it perfectly with how i meant “greasy” — like the 90s rocker/grunge hair.
Would it be better to say the “wet” 90s rocker/grunge like styles?
Obviously i want more High Elf like options. But to delete Void Elves would be extremely dumb on Blizzards part - nor do i understand why people make that suggestion.
They should add options for both groups. Give us more Void features, but also give us options for a more diverse look.
Haha, well you managed to perfectly sum up what i meant by the whole “greasy” thing. So thank you again.
I already know that you support the diverse skin tones. So why would that be about you? I wouldn’t want to be saying something kind of suspect having suspect people agreeing with me on it though.
Give them some mix of Human, Night Elf & Kul Tiran hair styles/colors. I think that would be nice. Even if it was just a few it would be better than what they have now.
I do support the idea of alternative racials for certain cases such as High Elves & Wildhammer Dwarves & other troll races, but anything really that changes the eyesore that is Entropic Embrace would be nice tbh. I’ve never liked that effect even on a Void Elf. If it was less obnoxious and didn’t cover your character in that blue slime it really wouldn’t bother me.
For example, the Troll & Orc racials i think look fine when they’re activated. You can tell the ability is up but it’s not obnoxious looking. Entropic Embrace should be similar to that visually.
Could just say this I suppose. Lessens the chance of it being taken negatively.
Well of course. I don’t blame you.
Aye. It’s a level of ridiculousness I cannot stand.
I agree.
And it’s not limited to void elves.
High elf options for the belfs (while not entirely as separate) should be allowed to be increased. Of course while they still get belf specific options…
Anytime blizzard… Add something impactful for belf…
I digress.
Until they add optional racials to give them their Stormhammers they haven’t given us Wildhammer.
Or better yet finish the damned job and make them their own AR… Throw in druid (and lore for it) for the trouble.
Sadly i don’t think they’ll be their own race/AR at this point. BUT i think the next step going forward for new races is going to be a proper SubRace system. The new customizations might just be the first steps in that. By that the 2 obvious examples would be High Elves & Wildhammers.
Maybe in a Sub Race system High Elves become playable under the Void Elf umbrella. If you select High Elf you gain access to the Paladin Class & your racials are changed to something High Elf flavored. In exchange Void Elf skin tones/hair are restricted. (Warlocks are questionable because there’s at least 1 example of a Helf Warlock ingme.)
Wildhammers would be a “Subrace” under the Bronzebeard Dwarf umbrella. Choosing a Wildhammer would grant you the druid class & a Stormhammer Racial while restricting some classes such as Paladin/Warlock/Mage etc.
Obviously there’s more examples where this could fit with a few other races but i think something like that is going to be the next step forward in playable races. If that happens though i’d love for these subraces to get their own HA/Tabards/Mounts.
Because you addressed it in your post directed to me. My mistake.
I did want High Elves originálly! Haha.
Yea, its like, why should the VE fans have to suffer? There are going to be people who dislike High Elves but love Void Elves, taking that away from them, isn’t fair all.
Of course, id also like the same courtesy in return though with regards to the HE options.
This is true too. Both groups have a High Elf heritage, so more options to express that would be lovely.
Okay, i’ll use these instead, and not what my initial wording was if this’ll be better.
Idk I tried to be as careful about reinforcing my issue was with the language as possible not your opinion you didn’t like the hairs. But it is what it is, all hair comes from somewhere, undead aren’t real yet they have an Elvira hair, I don’t know if using terms like greasy etc is ever appropriate to comment on hair Blizzard didn’t just make up the styles they come from somewhere, but thats just me. It’s all cleared up now.
Nah, just let BE have it since lore-wise they are trying blood magic.
HE’s/VE’s are not trying blood magic.
I personally like the idea of sub-races, but I dunno if blizz will go through with that idea unless they go and try to “balance” the core race and the “sub” race classes equally. For the case for HE I think the same solution can come from model togglers for “Alternative” life choices of them, like if they refused to join the void elves and further their devotion to the light and joins the lightforged and becomes one.
Not saying it’s bad, I like it and support sub race ideas.
According to Portergauge on twitter, Night Elf Dark Rangers have unique eye textures separate from their original eye textures and Blood Elf Dark Ranger textures. They look awesome.
