Continuation of New Customisation Options for: Void Elves, Blood Elves, & misc high elves

No, he’s calling the options disgusting. And that’s his opinion to do so since he feels it doesn’t reflect his identity.

You don’t have to agree with it, but he’s entitled to call these options disgusting.

He’s saying it’s “forcing” feminization, and insult to trans identity. He has every right to voice his opinion, and we have every right to point out how wrong, and hateful it is.

Well, Tauren and Draenei needed them to feel relevant and Night Elves only have them to make up for having a tree burned down. You know like buying fancy stuff when depressed.

Because that’s what he feels is occurring and he doesn’t like it, so he’s expressing his dislike for it with his opinion.

how do you feel about those? i dont know if we will ever get those. just curious. they seem like a style that would’ve been prominent in circa three musketeers era

Like I said it’s a line. There needs to be plenty for everyone, and I think some of this whole argument is sloppy use of terms, and just talking past people. I don’t think Snow is reading it as intended, but text is text. I get more the impression of worries about the customizations favoring the problematic stereotyping used on Blood Elves in the game that isn’t just that men can act in a ‘feminine’ fashion, it’s that their men aren’t men.

I also imagine that someone who has gone through the life where their body is just wrong may react differently than others to these options. And if one feels that (whether it’s reality or just perception of noticing the things you have a problem with more) too much of the options being added represent the identity you tried to get away from, that’s not exactly pleasant. And it’s just reality that in a way each addition made will bump another potential one out of being worked on, so I can see worrying about that.

looks like a good model for future half-elves one day. Just needs some tweaking. :stuck_out_tongue:

Yes I know what they are.

Yep, and his opinion is invalidating a very real group of people who wish to be represented, and not hindered by some childish idea of a stereotype. And when you post backwards ideas, and comments like that on a public forum, don’t act shocked that you get responses from the public.

Funny, ain’t it?

draenei look like they have permament high heels on because of the angle of their feet/hooves, though moreso the females than the males.

Idk I’ve seen Snowsong agree jewelry is lackluster. We all seem to agree jewelry is lackluster, the point of contention is equating anything seen as feminine as bad, and that does to Snowsongs point invalidate and belittle another demographic one I’m apart of, nothing wrong with not using the jewelry, or wanting other options, but the insult and description/ reasoning for insulting the jewelry is what is the issue.

But at the end of the day we all agree it’s lackluster I think just moving forward we can be mindful on not insulting other groups of people.

But it’s really not. He just has in his mind who he truly wishes to be and nothing else and wishes that he had better options to properly reflect it in-game beyond a stereotype.

This really just all got misunderstood and blown out of proportion by people. At the core of this debate it really just boils down to people wanting more options for their characters instead of being stuck with options they do not like. When others could be added alongside of instead.

Which is fair and valid, but that other stereotype is also some people’s lives and personalities being insulted too and one doesn’t need to insult / invalidate it because it’s not you.

I get what you’re saying but I think it’s downplaying the idea of other people being the very real stereotype as you keep calling it as if it’s a bad thing.

It’s a stereotype you don’t feel you belong to is valid. But when you have certain micro aggressions and keywords speaking out against it you are insulting people who are like that.

But it is, because there are feminine men in real life, so to say that they shouldn’t be portrayed or represented because of some childish stereotype is wrong on so many levels.

And wanting new options to better represent himself should have nothing to do with telling others they’re disgusting and forcing feminization on him for wanting to portray feminine options on their characters. No one’s telling him he can’t have masculine options, he’s telling OTHERS they can’t have feminine ones.

more than a demographic. a demographic and then half of the human species . haha

Can’t you guys message each other somewhere about all this? It’s severely de-railing.

I’ve gotten more the impression that he’s worried that they’ll end up centering the entire race around the old bad joke and not add in customizations that represent a spectrum of identities. Less wanting to force everything to be ‘masculine’ more worrying that the opposite will happen.

Lann, He’s just insulting the options because of how they make him feel as a trans person. I get it seems like he’s attacking a group of ppl because of how he feels in regards to certain options and stereotypes but he’s not. He’s just voicing his opinion and criticism of customization options in hopes that Blizzard gives him better options to properly reflect his true self in his character.

He’s saying it about the options, not other people. You’re misunderstanding what’s actually being said.

Thinking upon this, isn’t the horde races are almost always super macho with the males? Makes it a bit funny when the elves of the horde don’t even have a lick of that macho-ness. Cept darkspear trolls, they are special.

You don’t need to invalidate other people to validate yourself or how you see your in game characters.
