Well I’m sure they could be toned down for WoW.
But I could see them wearing mail armor, using ranged weapons, or melee. Being healers, ranged dps, and melee dps.

I think purple eyes make much more sense for void elves and they should have something like that to keep them distinct.

we got them. we didnt get the pretty ones the high elf npcs have now, but we did get purple. looks pretty good. i’d like white hair and also black hair options and ear/eyebrow size modifiers. and then can make a dark elf easy

You know, I was going to mention Warcraft not really having combat bards being one of my hangups with the idea, but then I found an NPC who does in fact use music in combat.

It’s the same thing as integrating Wildhammer into playable Dwarves who are canonicly Bronzebeards. Playable Void Elves have been stated to represent High Elves as well, so it would be a game mechanics/player agency issue which could and should be expanded on, ie additional racial cosmetics for both spells and gear.
It would also make sense for High Elves and Void Elves to close ranks and unify under Alleria, but some High Elves of course may not take up the Void, but could still embrace their ren’dorei kin.

in everquest they could wear cloth, leather, mail or plate. plate being preferable since they would frequently off tank. but i always think of them as leather wearers. i mean, thematically.

I’ve been requesting purple eyes since void elves were released and what we got doesn’t look anything like what I had in mind… In fact it doesn’t look like a deep voidy purple, it just looks like white-pink. The closest thing to what I wanted is that screenshot Somand posted.

It’s the simplest way to introduce High Elf paladins and makes the most sense. They already exist and there’s no need for some weird mental gymnastics explanation. They’d simply be Knights of the Silver Hand alongside humans and dwarves.

I agree leather makes sense for them thematically, but the game has enough leather using classes as is. 3 plate, 3 cloth, 4 leather, but only 2 mail.

And another great part of this is it could open doors for other races as well with Draenei recieving a Krokuul/broken option and gaining access to Rogues and Warlocks, Tauren getting Yaungol options giving them Mages and Warlocks as well for just a couple examples. This would do wonders for player agency.

It seems like introducing a massive new system solely to provide void elves a class that makes no sense for them by making them not be void elves involves some pretty big mental gymnastics right out the gate.

Yeah they have glowing purple voidy eyes as npc options. Just give those to void elves and give glowing red eyes to blood elves (and an undead skin or two) so they can have dark ranger options.
