Light and Void are opposites that fight. Isn’t it reasonable to assume if you put pure Light and pure Void in the same mortal body, they’d go to war and tear the poor sap apart?
Something something Alleria and Turalyon.
In this case I just assumed context would be enough. Lol
They’re contradictory by their very nature so a paladin wielding the Void would be way off of what we have here now.
The thing here is that that contradiction is what made reality what it is, that’s why in our plane of existence (reality) any combination is relatively possible, at least that’s what you can assumen after reading the books of Chronicles.
Giving Paladins a Void spec would be like giving Shaman a Decay spec or giving Druids a Nightmare spec.
But that already exists since the beginning as Priests having Light and Shadow specs (Shadow is Void in the Lore, before the concept “Void” everything was Shadow, to avoid changing it Blizzard just decided to combine both concepts, even in Chronicles you see how they say that both are the same thing). So it’s not impossible, even though I don’t think it would happen, that would be much of a hassle and Blizzard has been known to be lazy in that regard.
Of course neither shamans nor druids are religious fanatics like paladins, so it’s not even as bad.
Priests have to represent an extremely wide array of religions and cultures. Paladins just represent Light users.
sweats
Seriously though I think it’s a little harder to justify the void spec paladin.
At least Dark Shaman, reprehensible though they are, were in the Horde.
And I could honestly see a group of druids trying to harness what’s left of the nightmare.
They would be kicked out of the Cenarion Circle faster than the Flash could grab a pizza.
Probably true. Though who needs them these days? The Kul’tirans and the Zandalari technically aren’t a part of the Cenarion Circle.
Go Barry go.
Casual hour. A shaman that tapped into decay even for a while would if not permanently lose their powers at least lose them for a few decades.
Diametrically opposed theologies and heretical corruptions seem a bit antithetical to the current lore in game one might say.
I love that show so much.
Benedictus controlled it very well and he was as far to the void as you can go. He called upon the Light and wielded it through sheer will power WHILST possesed and influenced by the Void. So no, it doesn’t equal explosion. Two pure cosmic energies clashing is not the same thing as someone who is void influenced using the light.
This. Everyone and their mother was harping about blue eyes, when I’ve always wanted purple (and glowing purple would be perfect for void (or arcane in belf/helf case). Give us that, white and black (not dark dark blue) hair and I’ll be happy.
what about a bard class?
here’s an example from the old mmorpg, everquest. the guy talking is a half elf bard, playing a hand drum. next to him is a female wood elf bard, playing a minotaur horn. they can also play flutes, mandolins/lutes, tamborines and various other horns. in dnd lore, half elves were the most prominent race for bards, though in everquest, many races could be a bard, half elves were best suited for it.
velfs still need their half elf ears. so far we still dont have the ability to shorten our ears.
puuuurppppllle eyes.
