"Content Creators" claiming to have quit and moved on from WoW

…because of how bad it is, or because of all the systems that they don’t like, or because how Blizzard ignores feedback, or because other games do it better.

But then 95% of their “content” on social media is bashing WoW. So technically, they haven’t moved on, right? Isn’t this heavy doses of COPIUM? To claim they’ve moved on from the game that they’re still ranting about months and months after the WoW-hate train has passed?

There are plenty of “content creators” who have also claimed the same things but have made a farewell video and actually create “content” playing a different game.

Of course I can just ask YouTube to stop recommending me these “former WoW players” but I wanted to make a forum post affirming how annoying and cringe-tastic these “content creators” are.

100% agree with you. I won’t watch asmom or bellular at all because of this.

No, of course not. They can’t move on from WoW because their income relies on it. It’s unfortunate for them, but few people ever stick around to watch their FFXIV or Lost Ark or, for heaven’s sake, their new world videos.

Imagine wanting the game to be good and not just obeying like a blizz can do no wrong fanboy. I agree with a lot of what those content creators say because it’s a community accepted gripe alot of the time. They complain for the same reason I do. We want the game to be better. The blizzard standard has our expectations high.

They’re just giving people what they want to hear.

New patch/expansion is lots of hope and hype.

Current patch/expansion is misery.

Repeat forever.

I don’t have anything against those content creators but they are doing what gives them higher income. Playing FFXIV, Lost Ark, or New World isn’t gaining the traction they needed, so they go back to bashing WoW videos, granted some criticism is needed but when they make constant videos about it then it’s usually for their own financial gain.

This is YouTubers in general nowadays like yongyea. I still haven’t forgotten how he shilled so hard for cyberpunk 2077 then proceeded to bash it as if he didn’t contribute to the problem.

I don’t think its copium if they aren’t subbed to the game.

Bashing a game doesn’t sound like supporting it to me. playing the game is supporting the game.

Are they making content for people to consume? Really not sure where your issue stems from.

All they care about is the Daily Outrage, having something to scream about, getting people riled up for more views.

Bunch of Jerry Springers.

Same thing for these video game industry YouTubers. Which surprisingly belluar made a channel on to just bash the game industry or create fear mongering

I hate that it’s cool to hate on WoW when other games aren’t much better.

This is a stretch.

As content creators its financially beneficial for them to exaggerate their complaints, and all of them clearly do

It’s all just rage grifting, it’s how all journalists make their money now. The same thing happened to comic books, the people complaining about how people shouldn’t be buying them are still reviewing and buying them. It’s all a show. Anytime you see one of these rage grifter movements, just ignore it and enjoy whatever you want.

The unfortunate truth to developing as WoW youtuber is to make hate videos about the game and that is when people flock to your base and you start making bank. Genuine WoWtubers an example I can think of is Hazel, while she is a great youtuber, I doubt she will ever blow up like the other content creators… that’s just the way the world works right now.

A lot of the viewers of this tripe seem to be ex-WoW-players who want confirmation that quitting was a good idea. Which is why the “WoW is the worst thing ever” videos are popular with such folks.

But at the same time, when people say “so-and-so bashing blizzard is bad for WoW” I don’t think it matters at all. As if any of these peoples’ viewers have been subbed to WoW lately.
