The only wow related youtuber I respect these days is Hazel
The guide-makers are still going.
It’s just the commentators who are dropping off. (Thank goodness.) You know, the people who just commentate instead of actually make content.
Asmongold and Bellular still play WoW.
Its why i dont watch preach anymore.
Dude took a stand, which good for him, but still goes off on the game. Nah son its fish or cut bait not half measure crap.
But as earlier ppl said. Its where the money is /shrug
They’ll all be back singing 10.0’s praises once it starts up on test realms, too.
“Sneak peek” style videos get lots of clicks, so they’ll do them.
I especially love Bellular’s “TORGHAST IS AWESOME” video from SL beta. (Note that beta Torghast was the same as launch Torghast, so don’t start with the ‘but everything changed about Torghast’ silliness.) Which he then followed with his “Torghast is the worst thing ever” videos.
He’ll do the same thing again next time: Praise it, then bash it, even though it’s the same.
I still remember that video and how complimented Torghast and said it was the best feature ever. Crazy how fast he switched to the “Hate on Torghast trope” I’m surprised more people don’t remember that, he contradicts what he says multiple times.
I kind of agree. She’s one of the few non-click bait, “the sky is falling”, streamers.
Yongyea did the same thing with cyberpunk2077 I just ignore these commentators now tbh
A streamer compromising his views and perspective to appease his audience?
Who would’ve thought.
Its no different than the wow players bashing whatever new mmorpg comes out and falsely labeling it “wow killer” because competition bothers them.
The irony of posting in a thread about how streamers only do what they do for money than act like most scientists don’t do the same thing.
The Doom and gloom preachers have representative on both the left and right and the only way to be saved is to follow them and give them money
A lot of content creators who used to play and stream wow exclusively now also play other games. Some play wow once in a while. They’re free to do that. They are not under contract to shill for Blizzard.
Who is this exactly and what “social media” do they “bash” wow on? Where does this “95%” number come from? Did you transcribe hundreds of hours of videos and count words? What is your definition of “bash”?
They are free to report on wow news. You are free not to listen to them if you only want to hear positive things about the game. Streamers are streaming games they are playing for many hours a day. So streaming a game that is not wow constitutes “bashing” wow?
When Asmongold bought Vampire Survivors for $3 and played it on stream for hours, did that constitute “bashing wow” because he wasn’t making up stuff that sounded good about wow?
I know it’s hard to believe, but people who unsub are actually permitted to come back. They are not banned forever from the game. Some of those are content creators. Bellular really likes this patch and has been talking it up. He’s also been saying a lot of positive things about the potential for a dragon-based expansion, even though his subscribers are skeptical that the same gameplay as we see in this expansion would doom it.
You needed to make a forum post about how you suffer being forced to see links to content creators you know nothing about because you never listen to them. Because why, is someone paying you to pretend to be ignorant?
Most content creators don’t have any sense of creativity and just follow what ever trend is hot. Currently bashing blizzard gets traffic.

GD is such a great place to get hot takes on content creators.
Worthy individuals.
WOW is their only money maker especially when they talk bad about it. I agree that the game is in really bad shape but that does not mean they need to make 100s of videos about it.
They “move on” realize they don’t have anything to make content with, so then make click bait videos in order to get people to watch it.
Oof. Never saw the appeal of these.
But I don’t watch streamers in general, never got into the whole “influencer culture” thing. Maybe it’s just because I’m old.
Are any of these takes “hot”?
It’s 2022. People are just aware that content creation is a job. These people will always do whatever makes them the most money.
I wish more people stopped listen to the crap that comes from both sides, but so many people have to be on a team. They have to have someone tell them how they should think and feel. It’s really sad.
tl;dr, please?
