Hello Moon Guard.
I’ll start off by saying my main is on WrA, and sadly it just feels empty to me, and I am considering switching to Moon Guard.
I’m just getting back into RP after a very long break. I’m very, very shy, as is my character (It’s easier for me to RP her that way), but eventually, both will come out of the shells and warm up.
How is RP here for Ally? (Sorry, I would go Horde, but I don’t like any of the Druid races =(. nor am I in any way familiar with the lore of those races)
Are there communities here that would welcome someone as shy as myself and my character?

Welcome!
For starters, I can relate to the shyness and how it can seem daunting to approach people on the server when they’re out and about with friends or their guilds. On Moon Guard, Alliance is thriving but also carries with it a stigma that we’ve garnered due to Goldshire, as well as the general toxicity that you can expect from a large server, such as trade chat spam and trolls.
Nevertheless, I’m sure you’ll find plenty of guilds that would be willing to take you in, and there are some race-themed Alliance guilds that you might fit in as well if that’s more your cup of tea. I have a few names but I’m a bit out of the loop, I’m sure representatives or more knowledgeable folks will come in to get you up to speed.
Glad you’re here with us, and don’t let some bad apples turn you away. Have fun whichever side of the faction divide you end up on.

I came here from WrA and have no regrets. It’s easier to meet new and random people. Not just around Stormwind, but all over the game. You’re more likely to get walkups and people seem more friendly in general. I like WrA for my horde alts. But I didn’t enjoy the Alliance side at all. Moon Guard will forever be my home now.

Kirin Tor refugee myself. Returned after an absence from MOP and WOD to find my entire guild had quit and Kirin Tor was a dead server. Came here, despite the ‘reputation’ this server has and so far I have been very pleased.
Just be sure to avoid Goldshire, get yourself familiar with the various RP Mods like TRP, avoid Goldshire, hunt for RP and check the ads for guilds, avoid Goldshire, don’t join any guild that spams you with invites, avoid Goldshire and realize that while Moon Guard has a reputation we also have life here. We have activity and we have a higher pop than half the servers out there.
…Also avoid Goldshire.

Thanks all, I guess now to decide if I want to move my Shaman, or my Druid. My only thing with Shaman is I don’t know much about Draenei lore, and she has a pieced together profile.

To be fair, reading around, most peoples profiles are pieced together lol. You’ll be fine regardless of which one you bring!

If you see me, wander by. And don’t worry about the profile, I like to leave mine loose and then discover things about my characters on the fly!

Thanks =D. Druid won the war. I’ll probably move the Shaman at another time, but I feel much more comfortable RPing on my Druid=)
You’ll find plenty of RP and guilds relating to druids so that’s a good choice honestly. I’ll always be open to RP if we run into each other in MG!

I transferred from Shadow Council a couple of years ago for similar reasons and never looked back … I find Moon Guard to be more dynamic, fun loving and diverse, quite a ‘community’ feel.
I too am rather shy at first with approaching people RP-wise, but have run into many such people who are just the same, have made some good friends and in general have had a happy time here. I am EU timezone so I do not even see the server at it’s best and busiest.
There seem to be some fun guilds about, for example a pandaren noodle guild, as well as the more game focussed ones. I attended a fun pancakes event in Stormwind for example. Everyone was friendly welcoming and no-one has got on my case about ‘not RPing right’ or any stuff like that. I had a lot of fun writing up a TRP profile, people seem to use that as a touchstone.
Yes there is the Goldshire thing, I just stay away from the place but then I never liked the atmosphere of Goldshire on any server particularly. Trade chat can be a bit tiresome with OOC pseudo-political spam sometimes but that’s commonplace and an easy fix, I just turn the channel off and peace is restored !
Welcome to the server if you decide to come over !

Managed to finally get the Druid transferred after a lengthy wait, and finally able to post on her =D. So far very happy in my choice, Stormwind is bustling, and I love seeing people everywhere.

We have refugees coming from the other servers daily.
Welcome to MG! Enjoy the walkups!

Waves Said Pandaren Noodle Guild, here! At your service. (Thanks for the shoutout, Khoovi. Free ramen coupon for you! )
MG Alliance side is a very bustling place. There are many collab groups of guilds that work together to make fun, public events for everyone on a regular basis.
While guild hunting, I also suggest you keep an eye out for these public events here on the forums, in specialized forum posts for RP events, and in discords for RP event listings.
In particular this month, (as you can find in any of those places) there is a SW Weekly Market every Monday, a Teaspoon teahouse event for the ‘Love is in the Air’ holiday, a Pandaren New Year festival, an IC Job Faire, a ‘Crucible of Might’ social-PvP tournament, a ‘Love is in the Air Bash’ public party, lore-based storytelling events, my own Om Nom Noodles’ weekly noodle shop RP, and many more.
So welcome. We hope you enjoy your stay.
