Alliance created a bunch of horde twinks, finally get a taste of real horde queue times and are behaving in typical forum fashion.

No thanks, i was going to, but now I think i’ll stay.

In fairness, Qpon, “standard horde level 60 queue times” are terrible and a lot of people probably have quit over them. Although clearly not in large enough numbers so as to lower the queue times.

Nobody wants to log on an alt and have to wait in queue for 50 minutes. Alts are supposed to be a break from the tedium of end game WoW.

Not getting games during off hours is a true vanilla experience. Welcome to 2005

Level 60 Horde queue times were a player driven issue (too many players wanting to access better racials). The sun 60 queue times were a Blizzard created issue, which was completely unnecessary to implement.

what “huge advantages”?
quite hypocritical coming from a gnome mage

Exactly.

@Qpon Twinks didn’t just roll one faction. There is a ton of twinks on both factions, its just the bg split has seriously affected their ability to play against each other. There wasn’t any issue with queues prior to the change. Blizzard puts this arbitrary change through, and suddenly sub 60 bgs have periods where they can no longer get games due to the population cut. Previously there was always at least one game going, even at the late hours. We just want our games back. Its a pretty reasonable request.

I can understand why people are willing to quit over this change too. When the only thing you play the game for gets drastically reduced in playability, it feels really bad. When the queues get long, it can take 40 minutes to get into a game. There’s people who just want to come home and pvp on their lower levels, and take a break from max level stuff. They can’t even reliably do that anymore because it takes so long to get into a game, you might only get to play a couple at most in the evenings.

It wasnt arbitrary, the weekend BG system apparently cant function when servers have different time zones. It was a technical limitation. A stupid one, but saying it was arbitrary is being obtuse.

I find this reason to be not entirely true, as the EU has three different time zones, yet they didn’t divide them into different battlegroups.

The countries =/= the servers. EU servers are all in the same time zone.

If there was a time zone limitation for one area, I figured it would apply to others. If they did not need to do it for EU would it not be easier to just make the servers all under the same category of “US servers” instead of East/West.

Could have kept things as they were and not had to go into all this time zone nonsense. No one was really worried about the time zone factors of pvp weekends. People most assuredly care the most about the time it takes to queue for a bg and their ability to play said bgs.

I remember pvp actually being a viable level up and rep grind method back in the day, with ques popping all day - everyday. It’s sadly no longer that. It’s been taken over by min maxers who have slowly pushed away many players who just wanted to have fun and dink around in some low level rumbles on the way to 60. By simply splitting E/W coast, it looks like there isn’t enough levelers to fill the gaps in twinks to keep games going off peak; and that says something.

This is what makes twinking so ironic. They create communities for solid pvp at best, but they also push away new and leveling players through griefing and gear disparity at worst.

Blizzard artificially made a player issue worse with this split. Ques will continue to rise as levelers max out since this game wont have an infux of players akin to 2004 to keep these brackets alive.

Yes, people will still level alts here and there but it wont be enough. Just thought that I’d voice my opinion for a revert because I’d like to see this game continue to thrive for all despite my personal feelings towards it. Hell, that’s a part of life and a part of the immersion in an RPG - Overcoming obstacles and finding my own niche in a massive world. Hope everyone is enjoying classic as much as I am. Cheers.

I was level 34, hadn’t played in weeks, and was ready to unsub when I heard WSG was out. I queued up to see if leveling PvP was as fun as I remembered. It was! And despite there already being maxed out twinks, a good player could be useful and help win games. Sure, I couldn’t expect to 1v1 everyone, but what player / class can?

Many great PuGs and marks turned in later, I decided to stay in 39s, simply because of how much fun it is. The only enchant I have is speed to boots. And every game has full on twinks, toons like this one, and toons like my level 34, all having fun and trying to win.

For those who think twinks ruin lower level brackets, I suggest you try queuing and see how much fun it is for twinks and non-twinks alike.

(OFC 19s notwithstanding, but 19s has been 19s since time immemorial :upside_down_face:)

I wanted no xrealm BGs, and servers with tons of PvP guilds like most players experienced Vanilla Actual. Hell, my guild was supposed to come back and spend two months parked in each bracket on our way to 60. But with no BGs on release the PvP community didn’t have a chance to form, balance, and grow to the point of sustaining server based queues.

That ship has sailed, and with the number of people queuing, the lower level brackets have formed an xrealm community where twinks, players parking for a while, and levelers could pug and recognize friends and foes alike.

That community has just been torn in half, with greatly increased queue times and a loss of half of our friends as the end result.

I love pvp don’t get me wrong, and I do pretty well because of my experience with the game. I just noticed an upward trend for barrier to entry which has caused many casuals to feel like its a waste of time to que. I believe that’s an unhealthy attitude for longevity. If anything I’d encourage more levelers to stick with it to see the lower brackets thrive and increase the player pool.

You’re absolutely right about skill making up gear disparity in many cases. I enjoy getting the best gear I can for the end levels of each bracket so I can compete and benefit the team as much as possible. Its more twinks than not but that only makes hks more satisfying for me since I love being the underdog and coming out on top when I can. Adversity is how I grow and hone my skills.

(Edit) I’m in favor of a revert for said reasons in my earlier post. Blizzard should recognize the value in keeping the twink communities together. If they don’t it’ll be up to us as a community to figure out how we can get more bodies into the games. Not sure if that’s realistic however so a revert is by far the best option.

Inevitably, due to frustration at queues and novelty wears off, players will quit and this issue will grow exponentially, until the game is unable to be played and dies. Blizzard has an opportunity to amend this by listening to its playerbase and making changes. Please fix this change, or we will all move on with our lives and Blizzard will descend into bankruptcy.

This change was unnecessary.
It doesnt just effect twinks, but anyone who wants to pvp below 60, please we need a blue to answer
