Conquest Weapon Purchased with Conquest by Mistake - Hear me out

side comment, but you should watch a video on how to gear right now. Its best to plan it out a bit since you have a mix of conquest, crafted pcs, wpvp pieces, and particular tier pieces that you want to go after. its hard to make the most out of all of the different gearing angles without planning it out. youll end up with worse secondary stats etc

True. I shot my wad on dumb stuff and I actually DID 100% know better haha. Sometimes I can’t help but buckle to those instant gratification impulses. So yeah, someone just coming back totally unfamiliar with TWW gearing options would probably be well served to follow your suggestion there, as it obviously isn’t nearly as simple as “go to conq vendor, buy stuff w/ stats u like” anymore.

Similar situation here.

Back when the weapon was tied to a quest, I noticed people on the forums complaining about it. Then I noticed the quest was deleted from the quest log, so I assumed Blizzard simply caved to some demand about weapons being tied to it and that we’d have to buy it ourselves from now, and people in Trade chat saying you just have to get an achievement to buy the weapons. At no point anywhere was I warned there would be tokens mailed to you, just assumed there would be no free weapon anymore
so I went and spent the conquest points.

 So
 I feel pretty bamboozled.

Very understandable, sorry to hear. Wish they would have a safeguard in place to avoid stuff like this, it would be very easy.

Also I confirmed that when you get the achievement it immediately unlocks the weapons on the vendor for purchase with conquest. Only after I get the box from the mail and opened it did it offer the weapons for tokens. Also clicking on the achievement you earn states nothing about tokens, getting free weapons, or anything.

If you just played the game you’d think maybe you got mail from the auction house and got another lame achievement that means nothing. It’s almost like it was designed to confuse people and set them up for failure.

That’s pretty much what happened. My achievement popped and was like, “ohhhh time to get weapon!!”. (with conquest points) haha

Yeah I can see that. “I unlocked weapons on the vendor yay”

Look, Blizzard makes a lot of questionable communication and design decisions, but they’re actually right more often than not when it comes to stuff like this.

People say burst is too high, so it gets nerfed. Then nothing dies and people get mad and say, “buff sustained!”. So they do, and then people get mad because setups are less important and then sustained dps classes or stuff that can avoid damage is too strong and people get mad again.

People say, “bring back Mop! Unprune our buttons! Make everything op!” Then things get unpruned and people whine about every class having an overloaded toolkit.

People like gear customizations and it’s somehow too confusing because no one talks to the in-game npcs or does an in-game quest or reads in-game tutorials and expects blizzard to just beam a hypothetical arbitrary “BIS” build directly into their foreheads.

Now people are mad because they sped up gearing by a full week at least, and about 3 on average and its still not enough, but also fotm rerolling is too easy.

We are 9 days into the season and people are crying about mmr. It’s unreal.

I think this is pretty justified. We waited what 40 days to play rated PvP again? Then arena is dead because they set a hard cap on mmr and let blitz run wild? I’ve attempted to play shuffle multiple times just to sit for 30 mins without a que and cancel it to go play blitz. I’ve played 2s and qued into the same handful of teams at the most average and populated mmr. I think the issue they created is way past fixing they should’ve hard capped blitz the same as arena then made adjustments to all 3 at a later date imo.

I’m not actually sure that shuffle is “capped” so much as they didn’t adjust the algorithm for different player numbers and thar bgblitz is pulling most shuffle players from.

Yeah that definitely could be the case. I agree it’s super early and arena rating doesn’t need to be through the roof already I just think they could’ve handled blitz a little better and it would’ve saved some of this community despair

This happened to one of my alts in Dragonflight, I made a ticket, and Blizz told me no.

Absolutely. I think they should explain how cr/mmr works and sticky it in-game or with an in-game link to an external site so theres an “FAQ” with official responses.

I think that placement games should be more clearly delineated.

I think there should be in-game tutorials for pvp also.

However, they could do all those things and more and people still wouldnt read them and would get mad and blame blizzard all the same.

Look at the vendor situation,
They gave us free weapons and free crafted gear tokens and people are malding because it was “too confusing” despite very clear in-game quests, help tutorials, and npcs to explain how it works.

So you think allowing to purchase weapons with conquest after obtaining the achievement is good and should be kept the same? (prior to utilizing tokens of course).

No, that’s not what I said. Idk why the tokens are mailed and not given to you directly (maybe an in-game limitation?)

You should absolutely have to spend the tokens first. Don’t put words in my mouth.

Ah okay, this topic was regarding purchasing weapons with conquest prior to using tokens, so I thought you were classifying that as malding because of confusion. Apologies for the assumption.

That website is impossible to navigate not sure how it hasn’t been cleaned up after all these years.

Dang really calling him out like that.

Don’t challenge him on that. It only gets worse.
