Conquest Weapon Purchased with Conquest by Mistake - Hear me out

I bet you support banning weakaura too

I think they help people get away with being less aware

Has literally nothing to do with ingame clarity when it comes to knowing about changes but you dont have an argument anways

Whoosh

That was an attempt at a joke?

iykyk and clearly ydk

Haha enough bickering guys.

If you are the player that stayed up to date on the forums and wowhead, it benefited.

If you are the player that auto piloted and assumed business as usual with purchasing conquest gear, you paid the price.

Simple as that.

Everybody has gotten royally screwed in a manner similar to this at some point. It’s a painful lesson but you have to learn that there are massive mistakes that can very easily be made in blizzards game design, mistakes that waste weeks of your work and dedication. You just have to be very, VERY careful with every move you make when it comes to buying gear.

Amyri wins again (doesn’t buy any conquest gear until he has enough for the full set)

I didn’t even have the option to buy the Conq weapons with the acutally conquest currency until AFTER the tokens were used, which I did on my monk. On my spriest I still haven’t used the tokens - when I go to the Conq vendor, the item window still shows the tokens as being the only currency with which I can acquire a weapon. Not saying different people can’t have different experiences, but from my own - I simply don’t see how what you’re describing as possible OP.

If you don’t have the token in your bags, the weapons cost conquest. Achievement then unlocks purchasing the weapon with conquest, since the tokens are in game mailed to you and not directly to bags.

Simply put, need to check mail before purchasing conquest weapon, unless you want to drain conquest and keep tokens. I just think there should be a safeguard from that happening, especially since to my knowledge, weapon pvp token has never been a thing?

Typical mid xpac arena forums post: ‘Gee whiz guys, how come the player base isn’t interested in doing PVP?’ LOL

His analogy would kinda make sense if the in person ballots had only Biden listed and let you vote for him. And the mail in ballots had Harris, up to you to make sure you use the mail in, even though you’ve been going in person all your voting life.

This is actually very believable if you just came back and never saw the quest to get 2500 conquest for free weapons. They recently changed it to the achievement, and idk if there is anything announcing that this is even a thing. You just suddenly get the achievement, which is easy to miss since you’re always getting random meaningless chievos right after matches.

Ignore the haters. Its definitely garbage design and understandable that you’d just work towards your weapon not realizing that this was a thing. It should be immediately placed into your bags at least, which would switch the vendor over to the token exchange.

I SUSPECT PVP VENDORS ABOUT TO BE RIP AGAIN

Thanks, I agree. I usually always just buy gear in between games, just the way I play the game haha. So it was a fast purchase out of habit, ‘gladiator weapon token’ was not even on my radar.

The way the devs set this up is so bad. If I am remembering correctly as soon as you get the achieve the weapons unlock on the vendor for conquest and only after you go to the mail box, loot the box, and then open it do the costs change to the tokens. I’ll double check when I hot 2500 conq on Enhance.

Thats exactly how it works, (at least for me yesterday), and yah, paid the conquest price. Haha

Oh I think I follow how what happened to you did happen… So if I understand you right, say that I had not gone to a mailbox and retrieved my tokens BEFORE going to the vendor, but instead went directly to the vendor, I would have then been able to buy the weapons with the actual Conquest currency? Yeah I guess that’d be kind of whack.

It was a new concept that the weapons were going to be quest rewards available week 3, and then because the lack of choice allowed by the quest turned out to be a huge flop, they made a late decision to just change the award (a feat of strength oddle enough) to a currency instead. It was all poorly thought out, poorly adjusted, poorly rolled out, and totally different (and unnecessary) to how they’ve done things in the past. I guess I can see how someone who hadn’t kept up with things via blue posts or forums could have been caught off guard.

Not really, everyone sure was right about a Lawyer shouldn’t be designing a game though.

yeah this is how it works. the OP didnt even know that the free weapons existed at all since they just started playing again and there is no longer a quest bringing it to your attention. so the weps were bought with conq and later on the mail was discovered
