You are not counting the daily bonus.
You are rewarded 8 conquest per random game after the first win, but the first win of the day grants you an increased amount.
First win rewards:
Random BG - 40 conquest
Random Epic - 65 conquest
Arena Skirmish - 15 conquest
Brawl (if available) - 40 conquest
Total 160 daily
Current conquest max is 6050 total
6050 total / 160 daily = 38 days of doing all 4 daily wins (rounding)
38 days * 4 daily wins = 152 total games.
This is assuming you win the first game you play every day, which is highly unlikely, but also highly unlikely that you will not get a win after a few daily queues of each.
This also assumes you are ONLY getting conquest from the daily win.
If you are doing it right, you are grinding conquest by running random PvP content, which is also giving you the honor that you need for upgrading it.
You should have steady power increases coming from buying new gear and upgrading it as you go.
If you also do rated content you will gain honor, conquest, and unlock your vault for another RNG determined potential weekly upgrade from that.
Don’t say you can’t queue for rated without gear. I see plenty of “YOLO daily RBG” groups in LFG that will literally take anyone. You don’t have to win games to unlock the vault, you just need to “Earn honor from rated PvP”.
You will earn honor for kills, holding bases, capping flags, and you will be rewarded honor at the end of the game win or lose.
So glad that your experience equates the experience of the mass majority. 
The mass majority has the same opportunities that I do.

I’ve done it on a lot of characters. Or I get my campaign gear in a few days which is 197 then I just can spam queue lfg with a mix of daily bg wins. It’s not that bad just a little bit of an investment at first but only one way to do it. Just make your own groups and farm

maybe the multiple threads that have been started on this topic not only on the BG forum but also the Arena forum.
The number of threads made are tiny in comparison to the population of players participating in PvP. People come to the forums to complain. Those who are happy with the game generally just play.
It depends on your class too. On my holy paladin pugging rated BGs was a breeze, but on my hunter alt? I can’t even get into groups without begging. I have to do arenas which is just nauseating.
Thats your opinion, honestly. I think the number of people enjoying the gearing system is actually smaller than the forum dwellers think. Can you prove me wrong? No. Can I prove you wrong? No.
What I do know though is that one player who had success with the gearing system does not mean the majority is having the same success.
Not really. There are thousands of PvP’ers on the ladders vs. a few dozen complaint threads on the forums, usually populated by the same people over and over again.
