Congrats for sucking the fun out of the game

Here you guys are, sick of time gates and here I am level locked doing old content because it entertains me.

I came back to WoW during BFA Season 3. So I already knew I’d be away behind.

I don’t have flying for any path finder.

So screw it. I’ll just do me until next xpac.

Just to clarify-

  • By “every expansion” you mean 3, (WoD, Legion, & BFA), be thankful there’s no dungeons or raids involved this time.

I just wish it was front-loaded & not time gated, so it was available at launch.

If you’re sick of the hamster wheel then just jump off it.

Go back and farm some old content for mogs and mounts. It better than butting your head against the grinder for no real reward.

Personally, I would have finished Pathfinder (2?) in patch 8.0, but I unsubbed for several months to have the privilege of grinding two more rep’s when Pathfinder actually became achievable.

It doesn’t matter though, because the game has been successfuly drained of life with the Haert of Azaroth “Essences”. What exactly does that mean, and how does it relate to gaining “Power”. Bizzard spent more time trying to shoehorn something akin to Artifact Weapons, which were quite fun into the lame Azerite Weapons paradigm, but it seem’s they just created a mess so they could create some nominal buff/cosmetic effect to justify another tedious grind for azerite.

The only reason I subbed for one more month is to see Classic. BFA is implemented in such a way, that playing an alt is un-enjoyable, because the classes all feel the same, or the grind is a unpleasant task, even with flight.

So what you are saying is “gimme now”.

If you have played since release, then you know the current rep grinds are squat compared to what it once was. Examples off the top of my head.

Hydraxian Waterlords
Brood of Nozdormu
Argent Dawn
Sporeggar
Darkmoon Faire (pre island)
Those damn anti-goblin pirates
Timbermaw Hold

… how on Earth did you get that out of me saying that it takes some people longer than others, depending on their play time availability? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Do you just make things up often?

This is exactly what i was thinking as i was reading this thread. Can Pathfinder be completed? Yes, of course it can (i am currently about 8k away in Mechagon rep from flying). No one here talking crap about Pathfinder is saying it’s impossible. But it is ABSOLUTELY, VEHEMENTLY, a slap in the face to players and in no way makes sense. It does not add fun, satisfaction, or a sense of accomplishment to the game. It is literally there to waste our time. Any of you people claiming it is some acceptable middle ground are clearly okay with Blizzard devs pissing away your time. The game was better before Pathfinder ever existed. Yes, i understand some people don’t like flying but you are in the overwhelming minority. Flying has been in the game since, what, 3 years since the game’s launch? Stop taking away features every expansion, Blizzard, behind a time gate or not. Just stop. Watch your time played metric really soar when you take Pathfinder out. But they’d rather take our fun away than have people play because they are enjoying it. They have settled for fans playing only because they have for so long they dont want to go. They don’t want us to enjoy the game anymore. Pathfinder, constant time gates, ability pruning, class dumbing down, constant rep grinds and Azerite grinds all just serve to prove that Blizzard not only doesn’t want us to have fun but also that they think we are all idiots.

Not entirely sucking the fun out of the game.
Its squeezing the unfun into the game.

The old system was far better than what we have now. There were more options. The problem wasn’t the options, it was the fact that only a select few choices worked with specs. Rather than change that and work on the talents that were pretty much useless they ditched the whole thing and simplified it. I never said the old system was perfect but there was a hell of a lot more choice back then, even if those choices were moot.

The absolute coldest of takes.

Flying makes the world better. Flying removes the tedium from being out in the world. It makes the game…FUN. Shocking I know right??? Flying is very important to people’s enjoyment of this game. Saying “play a flight sim” is ridiculous.

Maybe people want their rewards when they finish the achievement and not a year later.

“You think rep is bad now let me reference 12-15 year old rep grinds and pretend rep grinds from 12-15 years ago are still relevant”
Stop comparing irrelevant and outdated grinds to current wow.

  1. Grinding is a core part of mmorpgs.
  2. No they don’t. Legion’s was easier than WoD’s, bfa’s is easier than legion’s.

The game sucks and have moved to xbox one x playing red dead online. The world is fun and looks amazing and after the update coming there will be so much to do. I have played this game for 15 years and finally found a game I can enjoy again. Sorry Blizzard but I have tried your other games and you have nothing worth my time and money anymore.

My requirement told me part 2 was needed.

J/K! :grinning:

Ok bye then.

Why is it people insist on silly little comments like this when they leave? I’ve left and come back several times, I know how it feels to be burnt out and disillusioned. But there just isn’t a need for it. They have a questionnaire as you cancel, yes it’s still there as at two months ago when I left and you can add your own comments to it.

I think we’re seeing a couple of things, a lot of it is outside the control of the developers and more administrative decisions. They’ve obviously reduced investment in the title. Alpha is an advertisement, beta is alpha, live is beta. Everything is now reduced in scope, no sprawl just tight continents with multiple levels, mobs spaced illogically to force engagement every few feet, and annoying terrain to drive up engagement statistics. There’s little innovation, they keep dumbing down the game, I assume to make design simpler so they can pump out expansions with little development. And the time they spend is on things most people seem to hate like crz and leveling items, when it becomes apparent people don’t like them they change the name and pretend it’s something else or simply don’t talk about it because the decisions are cost savings steps or meant to drive up time to extend subs and drive engagement statistics.

I think, in a big company, decisions get made by people who have golden parachutes so they’re just invested in short term gains and move to other positions before the consequences of their strategies become evident. People are afraid to do anything against that because they can hide bad decisions in following orders or within committees driven by directives.

It needs TO BE removed. When did everyone start leaving “to be” out of sentences?

And… pathfinder is just a lazy way for blizz to extend content. They’re not confident that we’ll find the game fun enough to keep playing without some kind of carrot on the end of the stick. Pathfinder makes for a longer stick.
