WoD launched with over 10 million players and you’re blaming two expansions with two of the lowest subscription drops?
I don’t know why Blizzard is obsessed with having tons of large mountains and ridges in nearly every zone.
With Nazjatar I expected it to be way more ‘citylike’ like Suramar, and not just mountains/ridges.
Honor items have always been behind PvP.
Flight however hasn’t always been behind rep. So stop making false correlations.
And yes I would support people in all forms of play getting a way to progress rep. Because World Questing and Dailies ARE that bad.
I agree pathfinder part 2 shouldn’t exist and we should be flying no later than X.1 patch.
If you truly don’t care, you don’t respond. Just saying.
You do if your mission is to bump the thread.
I’m just saying that saying you don’t care is pretty self contradictory and undermines that statement by telling people that. Giving some Friendly advice.
Also, i never said anything about myself in that comment. I do agree some of the stuff on the OP comment of yours.
I think its quite obvious:
If you are willing (whether like it or not) grind the Pathfinders, you are the customer.
If you don’t, they don’t care about you unsub or whatever.
Wait, wait, what? The level design and art is phenomenal in this expansion. So many amazing zones and details.
Nothing in the game REQUIRES you to fly. Many of my friends have given up on the idea of grinding out pathfinder and are okay just making their way to the dungeons/raids on foot or flight path.
They also choose not to grind islands, or do emissary quest dailies. They do just fine. If flying is the only reason you play the game there are plenty of flight simulator games out there with no pathfinder quest.
Yeah zandalar is so relaxing to navigate ,I truly enjoy all those elites surrounding my herbs and chasing me for 45 sec after I leave it–extreme sarcasm fyi.
I always love the calls for masochism in quitting threads.
“If you really played WoW, you’d have tortured yourself much more thoroughly!”
No one needs to suffer this expansion any further to know BFA means pain.
You are right about suffering and caring having an essential link.
Even if they give you back rep tabards, it won’t solve the main problem though. They can do what they did in MoP on a daily cap on currency earn system and put a cap on the amount of rep you can earn per day from tabards and you will be back with the same issue as OP.
This is the easiest Pathfinder to do. Even I did it and I’m only a BGer
Its not so much THIS pathfinder as just pathfinder itself being a bloated mess that isn’t fun to do. Not to mention the ridiculous wait we have from xpac launch until the second part.
They have been sucking the fun out of flying and exploration for a while now. Nothing is left to see or discover while flying because you have seen it all.
This game feels more like World of Checklists than a MMO with a story.
It’s clear they are not a fan of flying, but coming to an agreement on how to earn it.
I don’t believe they saw it as an alternative (I certainly don’t). I think it was a punishment. They wanted to remove flight from the game going forward altogether (probably to save on development costs in not having to detail the world for player flight, and to slow play time down considerably). When they were threatened with mass unsubs and a huge outcry from us - you know, the people who pay them real money - they chucked in this pathetic excuse for a flight system.
There were always alternatives. For example:
- Flight licenses at cap
- Flight licenses at cap and after completing exploration of the new zones
- The above two with the world designed so that we couldn’t fly to zones to be released in future patches
- Divided system of, say, allowing one character per server to get a flight license quickly, while still having a form of Pathfinder in place to provide account wide as and when the player wanted to work on it.
And thats just what I can think of in a few minutes.
Always alternatives there. Its just they have chosen this system for their own reasons that have little or nothing to do with our preferences.
I don’t even have pathfinder part 1 as i hate how the only way to acquire it is garbage dailies.
Nope not for me.
I much rather the current system, obviously it needs improvement with the long gap between the 2 achievements, but free flight is good flight.
I guess “free” is relative. My frustration at how it is designed now, with the long wait (almost a year since launch), the deliberate gating behind pointless reputation (why should you need reputation with a faction to be able to mount up on a flying mount, it makes no sense), the numerous, tedious hoops we have to jump through and so on make it only free as far as cost is concerned. I prefer a game to be innovative and fun, to immerse you in its story and gameplay so that you don’t even really notice the work involved in doing it.
Grinding the same thing over and over again ad nauseum isn’t really that much fun. Its a same-ole same ole that they fall back on because they can’t seem to be bothered being clever.
Do I appreciate it being account wide? Of course, it’s very convenient. But convenience does not tilt the balance of my favour regarding Pathfinder. Frankly, I’d be quite happy to do something like an Exploration achievement for patch areas and pay a reasonable small price for each toon to be able to fly than go through yet another of these gawdawful grinds.
