When the next expansion comes out and flying is gated to the .2 patch don’t expect to see me until then. I hate the beginning of the expansion. Legion and BFA taught me that.
Flying means nothing to me lol. I don’t understand why it means so much to so many people.
Ion’s definition of “pruning” is to rip the damn plant out of the ground from the roots and then plant something else entirely.
It should not have been the case that players could immediately fly over Nazjatar and Mechagon. If you can’t see why that’s obvious…
It’s not exactly correct to put in a brand new zone with all it’s topography and design only to let players completely skip all that from 00.00 hours.
I will absolutely maintain that many people who think they want flying from the start in fact don’t (not consciously, but the game is diminished for them). It makes sense to put in flying eventually thanks to Blizzard’s inexplicable choice to obsolete every zone after every major patch.
Flying is a convenience to skip things faster. What does that say about the quality of the game? That it’s so dire no one WANTS to be down on the ground doing game stuff.
Meh. Wod rep was not bad at all after medallion of legion rep tokens were added. And heck you could group up with some folks and mob grind rep with the saberstalker faction, and hit exalted in one day, or two depending on how long you played in a day. Same with the timeless isle trash mobs which gave rep also. The devs are so fixated on snail pacing everyone now that the they don’t even let the trash mobs that are in 8.2 give any rep at all when you kill them. And no rep tokens either from elites, rare’s, or from table missions is another reason folks are pissed off.
I will say, this was kinda stupid and lazy on the developers. I expected the new zones to be like Argus. Mechagon being on the old map could have been dealt with like with Skettis with more anti-air patrols or whatnot, but Nazjatar is a separate instanced area.
I think Blizz realized they were ticking people off badly by not allowing flying immediately.
Not to sound like a jerk but if you don’t get it you never will. As long as you’re not advocating for its removal, I wish you a good day.
Mine took a week and a half. I wouldn’t consider that a grind.
I’m not, it’s just a minor thing.
But there are. They give rep and body guard xp.
I’ve never really liked this argument. I literally never did dailies/rep grinding until Cata. Then MoP changed the game to basically require everyone to do them in order to progress the story and starting locking a huge portion of the game behind it. Even Cata forward with the on rails questing. The original game felt more sand-boxy where as now the entire game is on rails. I NEVER grinded rep until WoD and that was strictly due to pathfinder.
I feel for the OP because some players really just don’t like rep grinds and they never really mattered until MoP. If you think rep grinds are fun I imagine you think watching paint dry is also fun.
Because it was locked behind a simple gold grind from TBC to Mists then gated it behind content the last 3 expansions.
This! I can’t up vote this enough!!!
Folks use those aggro magnets? That do nothing but keep you stuck in combat lol.
If you can’t do 100 world quests,
The story lines in 3 zones,
Rep with 5 factions (which you get doing the story and the world quests),
The War Campaign,
Explore the new continent,
What do you want the community to do? Sympathize with you? Help you? The argument about “You used to be able to buy flying” is so basic. That hasn’t been reality in what? 5 years? Get over it. It’s not coming back. Pathfinder isn’t a list of chores, it’s literally playing the base game. Just because you believe you are a potato doesn’t make you a potato.
When it really come down to it. If you aren’t having fun then stop playing. It’s better to stop then to just be mad at a game for not being what you want it to be.
I think this is the dumbest thing you have ever said lol. So if we don’t like a few new zones in the game, then we shouldn’t be playing the game? I personally think the new zones are terrible. Weak story, they look ugly and the content is boring. I still like WoW though, despite my disdain for these current developers idea of good content and fun.
But you listed them off as if they were. Those things may be fun and entertaining to you, but for others like me they’re chores. There’s little to nothing of value in doing any of those things you listed off.
Oh nobody is denying that, he’s just saying the navigation has been dreadful on ground.
When you put such a basic and loved feature behind all those requirements they become chores. Why not let us fly and experience the content however we want? If we don’t want to grind reps then we just don’t. Do the devs have that little faith in their own product they have to put something like flying behind a massive wall of requirements?
